Good software. Only reason I don't use it anymore is that Lighroom 6 has it built in

    • Really? I need to google this!

      • Just googled. Awesome move Adobe but doesn't make up for subscription only service…

        • +2

You can still buy Lighroom 6 outright

        • -1

@hen dawg: yes but how long will they support it?

    • +1

The lightroom HDR function still isn't as great as Photomatix. It doesn't have the same pop and control Photomatix has.
I think using photomatix to line up the histogram, then putting it through Lightroom for colour exposure balance achieves the best results.

    nice one. no more watermarks!

Is there anyway to have it now such as in my account or under my email without install the program?

    • Just download the installer. Looks like it must grab files during install, as it's tiny.

Another big thankyou to the OP (Mr Firm Bottom) for coming up with yet another brilliant deal. Well done!

I expected a code such as SHUTTERARSE.

    • Or ARSEPHOTO..

  • thanks

    What is HDR?

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It is basically just the difference between the lightest light and darkest dark you can capture in a photo.

HDR is: a specific style of photo with an unusually high dynamic range that couldn’t otherwise be achieved in a single photograph.

Some people are bad at HDR. They give the technique a bad name. But, there are millions of scenarios where HDR can be used well. It can be as simple as a portrait of someone in shade with a bright day behind them (something that would create a silhouette effect without HDR), or my favourite example: A space shuttle launch. See here: http://www.nasa.gov/topics/shuttle_station/features/sts-134_…

      HDR has its place.

Yes, and 90% of shitty tonemapping jobs are done with Photomatix, because it has shitty tonemapping algorithms that let dummie produce digital vomit with a couple of clicks, then post it for their clueless friends to be all 'so much colors so wow'.

Which is what I was referring to, which you probably know.. but felt the need to educate us all on the benefits of expanding dynamic range.

Also, if you are using HDR to overcome a strong backlight on a portrait, you are a shitty photographer.

Watch out, we got a badass over here

        • @Orpheus: One on every thread it seems

        • +3

Coming on just a tad strong in this FREE offering thread jjcf?
Watdaya say? Lighten up a bit (no pun intended)

        • +1

Please explain how you managed to produce digital vomit? Every time I get ill it's in analogue :(

        • +1

          Hmm… very dogmatix.

        • Can you post a link to some of your work? I'm sick of digital vomit also, and would like to see the work of a real master

  • Promo code is so boring.

Thanks very much! Will give this nice program a go.

Question? Can I install it later on a new PC and still have a working program. My present laptop is going to be changed over soon.

    Best Regards.

So you need to activate the software by a certain date?
Otherwise anyone can just upload the installer on to cloud.

But TA you didn't list the vitalstatistix. Is it fulliautomatix?
And if there are bugs can we getafix?

I once knew a testatrix who was an aviatrix. She liked the premix to the detriment of her cervix. She'd seen "The Matrix" and bequeathed her crucifix. Before this gets prolix, you may have noticed that I love a certain suffix (no, it's not a prefix). Anyone want more, see the appendix.

What a Cacofonix! Or maybe I'm just a Geriatrix.

And you obviously missed the pun, but don't let it be an Impedimenta.

      Crickets chirping…..

Not many Asterix fans here eh? Pity, I think they're some of the funniest books/comics written.

  • Thanks TA

  • Thanks!

Thanks TA. For people who are looking for a good free general image modifier program you might want to give GIMP a look.
    http://www.gimp.org/

    • +1

GIMP is excellent! I run the PortableApps version, it's a great program for those always on the move.

      • what platform does it run on? I suspect not my iPhone, I didn't see it on the Apple store.

        • If you're after quality, don't edit photos on your phone.

        • I've only used it on PC (Windows/Linux), and while I'm almost certain it runs on OSX, the last Apple system I used was a MacIISE.

As said by a previous user, mobile devices make poor graphical editors. Best to use a cloud system with a mobile device.

  • Thanks OP

  • Hmm…installed it and launched using TA's link above without being asked for the code. Did I miss something?

    • Weird - I'm asked for the code as soon as I click on the link in his post.

  • Thanks TA, will come in handy!

  • do i need code to install and register ?

  • Oh man, the ladies will love my new HDR 'selfies' I send them!

    /s
