Get in quick guys, before they jack up the prices!

Rated just enough to get JV out of the bed in the morning, along with the bed where he stores all his eneloops.

  • I'm pretty sure this jack is the model where you have to buy the handle separately or use something else to jam in the hole

    • no way… might go instore and have a look

      • I got one from the last deal when it was on here and didn't get a handle, I went back to the store and was told that it wasn't included..

        • +5

WTFF??? no handle lol, they're having you on

i have a similar one but mine is red (goes faster) similar price and it comes with a red handle which is really just a metal pipe with a rubber stopper on the end

        • +1

I'd be asking how much a handle cost. Let me guess… $25.99?

        • Daylight robber. It is like buying a car but car key is not included

        • @tonyjzx:
I've got a spare one at home if you want it lol

    • +4

i have one of these, bought a couple of years ago and it came with a handle.

    • +3

I have one of these too and it came with a handle.

    • The 30cm steel handle is included. Go mine from the last sale a month ago.

Absolute garbage jack. It's too high to fit under a lot of cars, and also can't lift high enough on cars that it can go under.

Unless your car is right in that sweet spot - don't do it.

    • +5

Yes, this jack won't lift your car high enough to get it onto the jack stands on sale in this post. I have both. Save your pennies and buy the Costco jack, great value.

      • I do want to get the Costco jack. But the membership is too expensive.

If someone else sold it, it would be awesome!

http://goo.gl/h1Gjia - Thank me later! BTW, thanks for the post, I need another pair of those jack stands.

        • @doze:
Does anyone know the Costco price off the top of their head for comparison?

        • +1

          @Evil-Elmo:
          Lowest I've seen is $140.

Currently for $170. I'm waiting for a price drop though!

yeah I've had this problem too! It won't go under small cars and it won't lift 4WD's high enough to unload the wheels (due to wheel travel).
Good value if you can use it but otherwise save your money.

Had the problem with not jacking high enough to slide the stands under. Workaround is to use a small bit of 2x4 (cut to roughly same size as the current head on it) and put that on top of the jack. Gives it that extra bit of height to slide the stands under. It's not a safety issue as you shouldn't be under a car supported by a jack anyway.

Saying that, depends on your requirements. I only use it to do an oil change. Anything beyond that I take the car to the mechanic or call racq to change the tyre. If I was working on my car more often I wouldn't recommend it.

    • my car's been slightly lowered, so i use my car's oem jack to lift up one side just enough to put this jack under my preferred jacking point.

this trolley jack is just right for my car port which is rather tiny and lifts the car up enough. i use ratcheting jack stands and only lift them up one notche. any higher and 1) my car's bonnet would go through the car port roof and 2) oil changes start getting awkward.

  • Are these the ones Dick uses to jack prices up before a sale?

    • +3

No, Dick says jack is not high enough. Its price needs to go higher.

These are absolute junk! Very tall and wedge-shaped, so they don't fit under a lot of vehicles, particularly if you have a flat tyre and the corner has sagged or if the jack-point is deep inside the vehicle instead of near the edge. It also doesn't jack things up very high (140-335mm) so you can't jack the car up high enough to put safety stands under and then crawl underneath. If you can jack it up to the maximum height of 335mm, you'll have to then lower it a few CMs until the car is safely resting on your stands. So you only have about 30cm clearance to play with. I'm skinny but not that skinny. That's if you could get the jack under the car in the first place.

  • Are the $35 pin stands any good?

    • 4/5 stars of 10 reviews. Bought one from previous deal and would like to comment, but I can't because my pin stands are still sitting in the box in the garage.

      • 10 reviews from where? SCA website only has 2.

        • my mistake. was looking at the review of the jack.

    • They're fine. Have 2 pairs and never had any trouble with them. Inspect the welds before use as some aren't very confidence inspiring.

  • Have been using one of these along with the jack stands to remove my transmission, they fit my needs well.

  • +2

I've bought two of these before. I don't ever use them again. After a few months the hydraulic gas/spring compressor tends to give it so it doesn't maintain it for long. But i guess you pay for what you get. Can't complain at that price though guys. Jack stands are good though.

  • These SCA 1300kg jacks are pretty useless for use with jack stands as they don't lift high enough using the lift points at the front of the car or rear of the car (true for a large car and a small car that I've tried) for you to use the jack stands on the chassis. You'll have to lift one side of the car up at a time using the lift points on each side of the car, put your stand(s) in, which seems to me is not the right way of jacking up cars and is a potential for trouble. Save yourself some hassle and get the heavier jacks (2000kg+).

That being said, it is fairly light weight for a jack and it is very mobile. As a replacement for a scissor jack, and light duties such as changing tires, it might be worth it.
