  • Real-time monitoring and tweaking: OC Panel stuns the overclocking world

    Proof?

    • Hi Mate, to be honest I've installed one in my home PC but haven't really got around to playing with the OC controller yet. there are a few videos on it if you look on google. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_tKQ-SrE6c

Greenboxit have it listed as $340 from what I've seen… sorry champ, not a bargain

Greenboxit has a bad reputation. I wouldn't deal with them.

      • Those clowns charge you to pickup in some cases, ridiculous.

      • Yeah noticed that, though thought it was from 2010 and might no longer be applicable… don't see why I've been downvoted though as the point still stands.

        • You've been down voted for saying that just because it's cheaper elsewhere, it's not a bargain.

@TailsK: which WAS the case, when it was showing on a competitors website at a LOWER cost… now that it's no longer on that competitors website, it IS a bargain; see how that works?

But hey, thanks for yet another downvote after I've attempted to provide a link which seems to now be offline

          @kudoz83:

Too many people use price as the sole indicator as to what is or isn't a bargain. Regardless of whether or not it's available at a slightly lower price (~2%), it doesn't mean this is not a bargain. It is still less than other sellers. The extra $7 dollars may make it a bargain, if this is a more reputable seller. It may also be a bargain for anyone in area, if they want to pick up the item, and get it faster, instead of getting it posted.

        • @TailsK:
Haven't downvoted you but the others are correct. I wouldn't buy this from Greenboxit even if they had it at $1, that company is trouble :)

could you link me to the board on greenboxit?

      • hmm, doesn't seem to be there any more, guess you can scratch that then!

        • all good mate, just curious as you mentioned that they had a deal from 2010 on the board which would be odd as this board or even the chipset was only released mid 2013. :)

        • @NikoG21:

oh, lol, no the 2010 thing was referring to bad reviews about them on Whirlpool (apparently they haven't improved much since then either…)

  • I thought only Tom still doing OverClock test. An overly expensive board doesn't mean your system can be overclocked for stable and much higher performance. You will need overclockable processor, expensive ram, better power supply etc…
It doesn't worth the effort anymore. Get a cheap z97 motherboard and a top-end cpu. If you have money left get a decent GTX card instead.

  • I have one of these I've just installed into a Corsair 380T (Bummblebee yellow) and it was fantastic! I've just striped the case down so I can add some mod's and water cooling, but as a Mobo I'd highly recommend them from the short tests I've done.

[Edit]: Scratch that. It's late and I didn't read correctly. I actually have a ASUS Maximus VII Impact Mini ITX Motherboard which cost me $361 when it came on special (not sure what they're worth now).

    • we have a few options in those, the MINI ITX MAXXIMUS VI Impact are on special for $199 and the Asus Z87 Deluxe Dual Board for $220.

      • Those are some very nice prices, the Asus Z87 alones is normally about $300! The mini Maximus is a fantastic board, extremely compact and well built. The VI seems very similar to my VII but at 2/3 the price.
This Corsair 380T uses a ASUS Maximus VI, the build is very similar to mine, though currently I'm stripping back down to replace the pop-rivets with screws and change out some of the fans.
