  • Screen Definition High Definition 1366 x 768

  • "Changhong" just screams quality.

The problem with these cheap smaller screens is the sound is so invariably bad you end up having to pay more for a soundbar or something, which isn't really justified for a smallish cheap and nasty TV.

Not trying to justify the purchase of kind of a shitty TV, but you could probably make do with a set of $50ish Logitech desktop speakers (connection dependent).

      • +1

That's what I do with my Dick Smiths panel. The annoying thing is having to turn the speakers on and off when I'm using the tv

      • that's a good point. I got a Philips soundbar for a cheap BIG tv myself because i thought that was justified but it's more difficult with smaller sizes like this one. But, yes, good point, some okay PC speakers may do the trick.

  • Whats a good 32" decent brand for a great price and thats full HD?

I've got this one and it has been pretty good so far

    • very few full HD 32" LCD TVs around anymore…need to go up to 40" at a minimum for full HD res.

      • 40" good price decent brand?

        • Good tv with good sound (for a tv) but a Changhong 40" bought of dse for $309 last sale, make a great computer monitor. 3 year warranty in home, each HDMI has individual settings, 1:1 pixel mapping.

  • I was going to buy this a while ago however it is a thick TV especially with the DVD player added to the back.

  • I think I would rather the Sharp for $299

    (DVD built doesn't interest me)

    • +1

I wouldn't buy any 720P tv now, not great for gaming, not great for streaming, and not usable as a monitor when you next upgrade the tv.

      • At 32" can you even notice the difference unless you have the 720+1080 side by side?

        • -2

Yes quite easily and even more so for the uses I listed.

I got this from the eBay 20% of deal. Overall impressed by it. People can knock it for it's name and resolution but for me it is fantastic value. Better that TV's I looked at worth $100 more.
EDIT: make that a 5yr warranty if you register by end of July

    • On selected tv's as below not the 32"
      "on selected TVs (LED50C2000B, LED50C5000, LED65C5500I, LED55C2000B, LED55C5000)"

      • I registered my 32" Changhong from DSE and successfully got my confirmation letter in the main. Maybe they changed the terms from last month

  • DSE is running a similar promotion online today, but interestingly the RRP of this TV is now $399. Meaning that with the discount (assuming a $1 item purchased as well), the TV is $350.
Looked online only yesterday and the TV was $299 so it looks like DSE have bumped the price in anticipation of the discount. Sneaky!
