  • Do you know how much stock was left?

    • +2

Sorry, no idea how much stock. They only have card you need to take to the counter, and I wasn't buying an iPod.

    • +2

Probably as many that existed in the last DJ post.

    • Is it SA (Adelaide) only ? How about stores in victoria, Melbourne ?

  • Damn that's cheap

  • Too bad no rear camera…

    • +1

whoah, didn't know they removed it

    • -2

This one has a rear camera. All iOS devices after 2011 comes with one so they can be used for FaceTime.

      • +7

You FaceTime with the rear camera?

        • +1

          interdasting

    • +5

      For 5th gen iPod Touch:

      No rear camera:
16GB prior to 26 June 2014 (only available in Space Gray)

      Has rear camera:
16GB from 26 June 2014 (available in Grey, Silver, Pink, Yellow, Blue and Red)
      32GB
      64GB

    Price match with o…oh wait

    • +1

Could try price match with The Good Guys

  • Strange. It should be the 16gb model without the rear camera or earpod but the tag description did mention about the earpod. Space grey listed on OW online for $269

    • +1

I have one of the 16gb models without camera and it came with earpods…

      • I have the same 16gb without rear camera and very sure it didnt come earpods too.

  • so is it just in one store?

  • Broden is already lining up for tomorrow's opening in the hope he can score.

    • She….

      • She? Both jv and Broden are a she?

        • +3

I swear I'm gonna have nightmares tonight.

        • +3

Unity. One. Equal. No labels. Just ozy, from all walks of the globe… One sexless community with thrifty asses.
          Where is broden?
          Got fired?

        • @ozy:
          No, just got rich.

  • +10

To save WA people's time, there are 0 in WA.

    • thanks

    • Cheers. Let's hope they do deals on 32 and 64GB models.

    • bugger

    • +2

WA Always living in the past, but with ozbargain, your the first in your futures, or last to get a shot.

    • Thanks for that!

  • Just need a 32gb for half price now and I'll be stoked

  • now we just need someone to post a receipt of purchase and let the price match begin.

  • Who names a suburb Marion anyway!

    • +13

it's easier on the ear/tongue than say, Cockburn or Innaloo (both WA)

    • +5

      @power71 Robin of Loxley does.

  • +1

Did OzBargain travel back to 2005?

    • +4

Its a mp3 player and app streamer, compairing it to a phone is apples to oranges

      • +13

Actually they're both Apple products so….Apple to Apple.

    • +4

Thanks for the update of your life story over the past few years. Cant wait for the next instalment circa 2017

    What ever happened to broden

  • Why are ipods so popular? 16gb seems tiny. I'm sure people have different requirements, but to me spending a bit more (maybe less) and buying a phone with microsd support, slapping in a 64 or 128gb card is a better option.

    • +6

Maybe your idea is OK for someone's who just after a cheap music player. But, with the iPod you have access to all those iOS apps and games.

    • +2

Exactly my thoughts. I don't see what's so special about iOS.

      • +5
        APPS
      • +3

Cool. This probably isn't the deal for you then.

    • I personally see these as a toy/smart device that runs iOS (i.e. apps exclusive to iOS; it's almost like an iPhone without phone function). It sort of lives and dies on whether you want an iOS device. Well I guess you could use it like an MP3 player, but I could think of better options if you want a music player. Fiio X1 is around that price (if you disregard the cost of grabbing a mSD card); it just plays music, but probably is better in that area.

    • +1

You can in fact call it an ipad micro. At this price it sits in between those people cannot afford a full size ipad 2, ipad mini or iphone 4 but wants access to app store as well other than just a portable music player.

    • Ok so in summary the reason for ipods is a preference for/exclusive ios apps. I would have thought an android phone would have provided a similar level if functionality (apart from exclusive apps)? I currently use a 2nd hand Xperia z1 compact with a 128gb musd card, each to their own I guess.

  • +1

Just bear in mind this is using the A5 cpu from the iphone 4s, and is up to 7 times slower (in benchmarks) than the A8 cpu in the ipod 6th gen. Some of the latest and greatest 3D games won't be playable on this, aka chop city, aka slide-show, aka slow-mo 24.

  • I'll check out ow Keswick sa today.

  • well it's not on their web site so price match from HN or good guys is unlikely their policy seems to be "advertised price" though the receipt might work if you find another OW store

      Let the hunger games begin.

    • +1

Liverpool doesn't have it i called at 7.

    • +2

      Called, none in ACT.

    • None @ Keswick. According to the lady over the phone, the Marion one was the only one and it was a returned product by a customer, hence the price.

    • +3

ha. For once something in Darwin and unfortunately I'm not very interested.

    • None at Noarlunga.

    • I'm in Mackay and everything but I don't have a car at the moment. What did I do to displease the ozbargain gods?

    • +1

      Thanks for checking Flying Ace.

    • +1

      Thanks Flying Ace.

Me (calling Hunter St store): Hi, I was just enquiring about your iPod Tou-
OW rep: iPod Touch 16gb 5th generation at $99? None in Sydney, sorry.
      Me: Ok thanks bye!

    • West Gosford

they have 1! but it's a faulty returned one lol

      • are they willing to sell it .. still worth to buy it,( even further discount ) then get it repaired, replaced at apple )

        • Nah apparently customer is waiting for it to be repaired

  • None VIC elizabeth street & maribynong - returned products and sent back for repair.

  • None in Victoria according to Highett store. Code doesn't even come up on their system.

Looks like no stock anywhere. Unless WA stores have stock this looks like another dud deal.

  • +1

    Underwood none left.

  • None in TAS… Damn

  • +2

Called Glebe. Guy I spoke too knew exactly what I was asking for and he quickly replied that its $249 for the 16gb. "None in Sydney" apparently. Guess he's had a few calls this morning!

  • +2

Anybody managed to get one and have a receipt so I could try price-matching lol

  • Too bad, was thinking of getting one for games =(

  • Went to East Perth store. Came up at 269 :(

  • The Braddon store in ACT said they were looong gone, looks like stock at OPs store was a million-to-one chance.

  • Just dropped into the Windsor, QLD store. They had 2 left in stock but wouldn't honour the pricing.

    • Thanks, saved me a bit of time!

  • I wonder how many man-hours were wasted making enquires, and fielding calls.

  • Non in Sydney CBD or Glebe….as glebes 3in stock are faulty returns on system only not physical stock.

  • +3

The OP saw the deal in the store and posted it. It is not he/she's problem there was no stock elsewhere. OP thanks for the headsup; don't be putoff by anyone's comments from posting in the future.
