Courses on offer;
-Certificate IV in Bookkeeping
-Certificate IV in Accounting
-Certificate IV in Front Line Management

-Certificate IV in Financial Services
-Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Eligibility Criteria;
-Over 18 years of age

-Victorian resident
-You must be enrolling in a Certificate IV course
-You must not hold any Australian qualification at the same level or higher than the qualification you are enrolling into
-You must not have commenced two or more funded qualifications at the same level of the qualification you are enrolling into

Normally there is a student contribution of up to $1000 with Victorian Training Guarantee funding, but we've instituted a scholarship program to cover this part of the fee for eligible applicants. This is a deal to help people out, all Victorian Training Guarantee courses require significant student contributions and if you're struggling to find work - or under financial hardship - getting a qualification to better your self is a pretty tough gig.

We had a great response last week when we ran this, over 20 people have successfully enrolled.

If you don't want to register your information because you are concerned that we are just doing this for data capture - please just call 03 86 86 25 33 or email [email protected].

    Its just Government Funding

    • Bit of both - the 1000 dollar student contribution we are waving with a scholarship.

      • +1

will be waving goodbye to this deal shortly

  • +5

The bells be ringing. Why are we submitting information to get contacted about eligibility for the scholarship? It honestly looks like a way to get details of potential students that you then follow up and hope to convert into paying customers if they aren't eligible for the scholarship. Why not just be more open about the scholarship and what is involved in getting it?

    • -3

Sorry Tessel, just to give you a bit of background - the reason why is says "eligibility for scholarship" is because if we say apply and guaranteed, then if it turns out someone with a masters degree and is earning 200k a year will also expect a free course. This is a deal to help people out, all Victorian Training Guarentee courses require significant student contributions and if you're struggling to find work - or under financial hardship - getting a qualification to better your self is a pretty tough gig.

      • +6

Then that information should be provided up front. I am sure there are additional details you can provide (you did in your reply) that will allow people to know if they really stand a chance of getting the scholarship or not. Again, it really feels like you are building a list that you will then try to convert. Best of luck with it.

      • +4

I think it is better you list all requirements such as 1)has no master degree 2)earning less than $nnn 3) etc… so that one can be sure this is not personal information collecting scam.

        • He has,
"You must not hold any Australian qualification at the same level or higher than the qualification you are enrolling into"

Basically the VicGov's VET scheme. They subsidise people furthing their education up to a certain point. So if you have a HSC/year 12 they subsidise these cert course. If you have a Uni degree, then it's bad luck, you're already a smartypants.

    Only for Victorian residents?

There seem to be a lot of pre requisites to qualify for this.
Wasted my time by not putting them in the description.

    • First time I've ever posted on here - updated the post with re your comments.

  • just tell us what the deal is.

    • +4

I think the deal is that this mob gets govt money for each student

"Students" get a "certificate" which may or may not lead to employment

      • +3

Spot on, there are dozens of shops out there that do this nowadays.

      • +1

Off topic but I've noticed the use of "may help you find/get a job" in advertising on TV now by these RTOs. Sad and funny at the same time.

  • i agree with all replies to this post….it's a scam …database collection center rather than a deal

    • I've updated the details to make it seem less spammy? They are all solid qualifications, and the scholarship is real, so what else would you like in the description?

      • The things that would disqualify you from being eligible? I know that I was previously ineligible as I have a degree, but am I eligible now? Surely you have some hard rules that instantly disqualify people, you should post them.

        • -3

The hard rules are there. Vic resident, 18 years of age, Aus or NZ Citizen, PR. You are eligible now - the scholarship is flexible in that respect.

        • @batesy15: I have three degrees, but I do have an appartment in Melbourne. Do I qualify?

        • @batesy15: But that is incorrect, your own website states
"You must not hold any Australian qualification at the same level or higher than the qualification you are enrolling into
You must not have commenced two or more funded qualifications at the same level of the qualification you are enrolling into"
Those are rules that clearly apply to everyone, they aren't flexible, either you have a qualification higher than a cert or you don't.

        • @nmachine: yes it does say that. I'll get added "Career and Training Advisor has the final discretion when it comes to determining scholarship eligibility"

  • +1

You didn't mention the fact that you cannot have a qualification higher than the one you want to be eligible.
If you meet the criteria than you are not given a discount, the government is pretty much funding the course.

    • Those last three requirements are pretty crucial and should be included in the desc I think.
