Vinomofo Facebook Flash Sale - New Deals Released from 7pm - 11pm - Updates as They Come

50

Hey guys,

Vinomofo is having a facebook flash sale where they release new deals periodically on facebook from 7pm-11pm today. All the wines i've ordered have been really good, even the cheap ones. In my last post I put a gravy recipe for if you have wine which you'd like to cook with. Its included in the comments below! Enjoy!

I'll update here as they come. Turns out they are all free shipping. Save the extra $9 I guess.

Deal 1: MOFO SECRET DEAL Shiraz 2012 $21.50/bottle 52% off. $129/6 pack
Possibly Parker Coonawarra Estate 2012 Coonawarra Series Shiraz?

Deal 2: BLACK MARKET DEAL Nebbiolo 2012 $16.50/bottle 70% off. $99/6 pack
teambigred suggests it could be the 2012 Star Lane Nebbiolo http://www.starlanewinery.com.au/index.php/reviews.

Deal 3: Nuà Prosecco DOC NV $11.40/bottle 54% off. $68.40/6 pack
Honestly, I've never had Prosecco. It got 3.4 stars out of 5 on Vivino. Vivino says to pair with seafood or cheeses.

Deal 4: Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz 2013 $16.90 40% off. $202.80/12 pack.
Its got great scores, searching around it seems to range about $19-$26 on other sites.

Deal 5 MOFO SECRET DEAL Shiraz Grenache 2012 $24 52% off. $144/6 pack
My guess is Haselgrove Catkin McLaren Vale Shiraz 2012. Got some amazing reviews and ratings, pretty pricey though.

Deal 6 BLACK MARKET DEAL Sangiovese 2012 $16.50 70%off. $99/6 pack
Best guess is Rutherglen Estates 2012 Sangiovese but the price seems a bit off. Might be vinomofo over-hyping the price or it could b something else.

Deal 7 MOFO CONTRABAND DEAL Sauvignon Blanc 2013 $8.25 67% off. $99/12 pack
Best Guess Pemberley Sauvignon Blanc On Lees 2013. I just bought this one, trying to venture a bit more into whites, its so cheap that I couldn't resist :)

Deal 8 MOFO CONTRABAND DEAL Riesling 2013 $8.25 56%off. $99/12 pack

Deal 9 De Bortoli Vinoque Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2013 $15.90 190.80/12pack
A great pinot for the price, never had this year though.

Deal 10 95pt Plus Reds Pack 3.0 - a mixed case - $99/6 botttles 44% off
Details of the included bottles in link. All the bottles are at least 95 points, could be a good half case if you wanted to try many different reds. From this pack, i've only tried the Barossa Valley Cabernet Blend 2012. I bought a 12 pack of them a while back from Vinomofo, it was one of the best ones I tried from them.

Deal 11 Henry's Drive Pillar Box Rose 2013 $9.50 52% off. $114/12 pack
They included a recipe for Paella in the link haha.
http://vinomofo.com/deals/rose/henry-s-drive-pillar-box-rose…

Deal 12 Patritti Muscat 375mL $9.90 50% off. $188.80/12 pack
I've only ever used this for desserts, I always thought it would be too sweet to drink. Maybe not? It tastes a bit like caramel flavouring

Deal 13MOFO SECRET DEAL Cabernet Blend 2012 $14 50% off. $168/12 pack

In case anyone wants to know how to make killer gravy.

When roasting beef, add garlic, onion and various herbs (I like rosemary with the wine) into the cooking dish. After the beef is done, take out the meat and leave to rest. While your beef is resting throw the roasting dish onto the stove and once its pretty hot, mix in a tablespoon or two of flour. Add bit of beef stock(or water if you don't have any) and scrape off all the lovely beefy stuff off the bottom. Put a glass of red wine in there and whisk it while it reduces. Once its the thickness you want (might have to reduce it for 5-10minutes depending on how much liquid and how concentrated you like it), pour it into a serving jug. Quickly clean the roasting dish while its hot, it shouldn't be hard because you already deglazed it with the beef stock. Once you're done, your beef should be rested, gravy ready and you should be good to go!

Don't forget a dollop of tomato sauce, for sweetness and that extra tang.

  • seriously, why post here what we get by email direct from Vinomofo…nothing of value in your post.

    • +4

      Referral credit…

    • +1

There is value to OP via the extra advertising of his/her referral link ;)

    • +1

      why post here

      for the referral credits…

      • I think OP just used up his/her neg votes for the day ;)

        • -1

          hahah I won't neg anyone.

I'm not gonna lie, I love referral credits!

I originally got pulled into Vinomofo by one of their flash sales, so I usually watch them anyway, no harm in posting them here for others : )

        • +4

I think you're right!! (In case you're wondering, I neg'd you, just for a laugh).

Seriously though… many of us get frustrated with these regular vinomofo posts seeking referral credit. It annoys me a bit too.

But I look at ozbargain much more frequently than I look at the email account that I used to sign up with Vinomofo.

Furthermore, I don't want to click through the vinomofo links when I can get fairly reliable info via comments and +ve votes on here…

so the OP is doing me a service of sorts…just, not enough to earn a + or referral credit… haha

          @jordanlaa:

no harm in posting them here for others

no point in posting them either, unless you're adding some value…

        • -1

          @jordanlaa:

          fair enough.

I think that part of the reason that people dislike these posts seeking referral credit, is that secretly…they are jealous and want the $$$ themselves… I know I am ! haha…

        • +1

          @clandestino:

they are jealous and want the $$$ themselves

Some of use use OzBargain for bargains instead of referrals

        • @jv:
          Me too.

But gaining a referral (and lets face it- at no real expense to anyone else…apart from the slight annoyance that we are complaining about right now) is merely a path towards…ultimately….a better bargain?

          That's a bit zen-like.

Thanks for the post, handy for those of us who don't want the extra emails from Vinomofo.
Also people generally discuss the particular wine so is handy for those that may not be experts.

    • +2

those of us who don't want the extra emails from Vinomofo.

what's the difference between reading them here, or reading them in your inbox (with the exception that the ones here a delayed)

IMO, they should only be posted here if the OP justifies why they think it's a bargain…

      • +3

here, you can gauge the "value" of the wine by checking the popularity of the deal, and the nature of the comments…whereas the emails are generally full of propaganda. Not communist propaganda mind you, but still, they're slightly biased.

  • The first wine is a Shiraz, it's in both the VinoMofo description and URL yet Cabernet in the description ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    • My mistake! The first one I copied from the facebook rather than from the page. I updated it.

  • -6

I'll remove my neg when you ID all the wine. If you can't do that you are not doing anything more than spamming for referral credits.

    • I'm trying to put the deals on the post as quickly as possible. I think most of the wines will be IDed by vinomofo. Only the first two haven't been. The first one I think is the Parker Coonawarra Estate 2012 Coonawarra Series Shiraz but the second one i'm not too sure.

I'll try to ID them if I can

  • +2

free shipping is standard on flash sales and is extended across the site…that's why many of the deals have been pulled off the site for the night. The Prosecco is a good value buy if it pushes your buttons.

  • +2

Nebbiolo could be the 2012 Star Lane Nebbiolo http://www.starlanewinery.com.au/index.php/reviews

  • +1

    1. is prob Wynns Black Label Shiraz, not Parker

    2. is prob the Star Lane Nebbiolo as above, they had the Star Lane Shiraz 2012 recently as well

    5. is prob Rosemount, def not Catkin

    6. is prob Star Lane Sangiovese, not RE

    13. is prob Thorn Clarke Shotfire Quartage, it's been offered before

    I don't bother with the whites…

Not much use posting guesses unless you have matched up the evidence.

Hmm, formatting is odd, put # in front of the numbers to fix another issue and they all went bold…
