  • I don't know if the gaming consoles are a good price unless you can pricematch because myer has really expensive prices

  • great deal… would mean $400 for a PS3 (and if they have bundles, then games may be included!)

i'm probably gonna browse for a camera myself… probably a sony tx1 which also has a $50 cashback offer from sony

The exclusions are listed on the site as:

"Offers cannot be used in conjunction with the current Toy and Electric catalogues and excludes Australian and International Designer Womens Apparel… [long list of overpriced name brands]"

However, the chances of them price matching and giving you 20% off, are next to zero, I would imagine.

It's strange that there's no "Does not apply to price match" or something to that effect (like DJs does… "Does not apply to Price Promise", or whatever it is they say).

  • exclusions
Offers cannot be used in conjunction with the current Toy and Electric catalogues and excludes Australian and International Designer Womens Apparel, Christmas trim, Christmas food for gifts, Confectionery, CD’s & DVD’s titles that are part of multi-buy campaigns, Alan Pinkus, Anthea Crawford, Apple Computers, Bianca Spender, Boston Brothers, Carla Zampatti, Country Road, Cue, Crumpler, Dangerfield, David Lawrence, Dom Bagnato, Ed Hardy at Basement, Esprit apparel, Feathers, Hugo Boss, Jigsaw, Karen Millen, Leona Edmiston at Melbourne City and Sydney City, Levi’s at Basement, Marcs, Pandora, Perri Cutten, Pilgrim, Polo Ralph Lauren, Princess Highway, Review, Rhodes & Beckett, Rodd & Gunn, Satch, Sportscraft, Swarovski, TS14+, Burberry watches, Jewellery by Fiorina and Karen Walker, Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Rosenthal, Versace, Thomas, Rogue Home, Villeroy & Boch, Fissler, Miele, Foodwalk on Three, Cafe, restaurants, Service Concessions, Hair Salons, Santa Photography, Weight Watchers, Portrait Place, Kit Cosmetics, Mecca Cosmetica and Benefit Brow Bar services, MVM, Laubman & Pank, no! no!, Tanda, Skin Physics and sunglasses by Bulgari, Tiffany & Co, Chanel and Oakley.

Can't see console on the list.

    so figure PS3 + Red Faction game for $499 - $49.90

    • Hmm, but exclusion says "Offers cannot be used in conjunction with the current Toy and Electric catalogues", and that PS3 deal with red faction is in the catalogues. I wonder what that means?

      • Their still giving you the 10% off… but its still not worth it when compared to the EB Games offer…

        Confirmed in Parramatta NSW

  • Sweet. I see gps devices aren't on the list. Can anyone confirm these are on sale :)

    • I would assume they'd fall under travel goods or small appliances?

20% off isn't too bad as long as their prices are set reasonably first.
Only problem may be if I remember correctly they had a small section of their last electrical catologue dedicated to gps units.

  • Hmm, don't know if this is going to be any good. All there good prices are probably listing in the catalogues, so 20% off bad price = average. Will have a look while i'm though.

  • best thing is to just grab one and ask at the counter to scan, thats what i usually get told to do

also if they dont come up, them them about the discount, some are casual and have no idea

  • +2

so would this be better than the boxing day sale?

  • +1

The boxing day sales IMO have been rather disappointing in the last few years. It seems they cull only things that people didn't want to buy before Christmas (i.e. the ugly stuff) and the rest are usual sale prices.

Might head in and have a look at cameras.

  • No dice for me. Myer don't sell the two cameras I want.

  • Ok so they do sell the PS3 250GB but not in a bundle! so its $599 - 10% = $539.00 FAIL.

Rather get it at EB for 599 + 2 games + play TV

  • THIS INCLUDES IPODS at 10% OFF according to my Myer source

    • 10% off what retail price tho!?
prolly better to get them to price match Officeworks prices

  • do Myer sells DSLR lens ?

  • I went into a Myer and asked about the PS3 bundles. Discount specifically does not apply to PS3 bundles, and only comes off the full price. Same goes for everything else.

    • If you were in NSW, go to Parra they'll give you 10% off!

  • how do i retract my positive mark on this post. this bargain is crap. went into myers and the 20% off only applies to a selection of stuff that was already marked expensive. myers = FAIL

    • at the top right, where it has view in orange, click votes
and look for your name and remove the positive

  • +1

Went to buy a camera today. Myer was expensive even after 20% off.

Ended up going to JB Hifi and asking for pricematch and best price (on accessories). Cheaper and less hassle.
Always ask for best price. For example the battery was marked at $45, best price was $22 just by asking :)

  • absoutely amazing sale. westfield doncaster's myer didnt close till midnight. picked up a nice sony digital camera at 20% off, a slow cooker and some cheap polo ralph tshirts

  • Think it depends on the store. Pretty sure my local Myer (Roselands) were just doing the 10% discount on game consoles deals, regardless of whether it was in the catalogue or not.

    • Probably just an ignorant sales guy. You're lucky if you managed to pick one up then!
