No name brand, up to 6 weeks delivery time and you can get Samsung/Kingston locally for not much more by keeping an eye on OB…no thanks.

yep and with the fierce competition in MSY, shopping square, mwave etc. and local warranty usually 3yrs + why the hell would you bother…

      • +2

        Because it's kingfast.

        Better than queenslow

Ha, think about employees of that company.

"Yes, I work for Kingfast, and sometimes I don't.."

Geddit. hur hur. (I'll shut up now)

        • @waterlogged turnip: took me a while. But I got there. Well worth it!

    • Kingfast has been around 3+ years. They're a brand on par with the likes of ARAM or Silicon Power.

      Other than that, I agree.

I know of Kingfast, they do some enterprise level drives.

But even MSY is easier to return stuff than aliexpress.

        • Agreed. I would buy local.

SSD's can be counterfeit. Beware that a lot of computer parts sold on Aliexpress may not be genuine and can be cheap copies. A regular consumer will not know until they open it up!

    • Yup i agree! I brought a fake 128GB microsd card from aliexpress. Luckily i tested it with h2test n filed a dispute and got a full refund n they let me keep the card cause the seller didnt respond.I have read other sellers feedbacks though n some only give the buyers a partial refund so beware youll be out of pocket

I'm reading all the hate, but let's see another 512gb ssd for 190 bucks, I brought 2, is this ozbargain? Or OzWhinger?

    • Looks like it's Aliexpress featured deal on their home page, maybe a fair try. hmmm

    • +1

      An OK find O.P.
BUT calling fellow ozbargainers that have a lower tolerance to risk than you with their valuable data and to dodgy returns processeses, haters and whingers is just silly

tried a cheaper brand SSD once (Ocz), really regretted it. Hopefully these are better but personally i wouldn't take the risk.

  • You might end up buying KingFart

    • Can I firstly declare an interest in this conversation? I've been selling & using Kingfast f9 ssd in Oz for 6 months. I'm no test guru, but I find them reliable & stable. I've only had 1 returned from a customer, where the firmware was corrupted on installation. Not the fastest read/write specs, but on the whole an exceptionally reliable ssd.

      • I think he's referring to the fact that Aliexpress is riddled with fakes and there are so many fakes on Aliexpress.

      • Too many "Too good to be true" deals with AliExpress end up frustrations.

No arguement there. I've never successfully bought anything from aliexpress, without fakes or scams somewhere in the deal.
