sorry, this is the first time on this site. noted.
Add the bit where they harass you for month's afterward with their other "promotions" and sign up bonuses.
No, thats not how we operate, but I am sorry you had a bad experience.
So, you're essentially telling me that you're not expecting any ROI on this offer?
Of course we're expecting some enquiries from this offer. What we will NOT do is "harass you for months afterwards". Do your research and you will see that most places offer the first session for free.. Often the first free session is a bit of paperwork and then a conversation / consultation regarding goals, exercise history, medical history etc.
By offering 2 free sessions the potential client gets 1 session for free to cover the above, and then the 2nd session is there for them to get a taste of what personal training is like when it comes to the exercise.
Honestly, it is not uncommon these days for businesses in general to offer a free initial consultation. I don't know why you guys are being so harsh about it.
@weeze09: I currently hold a gym membership and have been a member for the past two years. I've also had these free sessions at 2 (if not 3) other gyms in the area, and every single one of them calls to ask (despite asking them not to, ignoring them or hanging up on them each call) if I or anyone I know wants to become a member. I don't need to do research — I've had first hand experience of this, hence the cynicism. If you don't harangue your free session do-ers even after they've done the session and won't return, then more power to you. You'd be just about the only guys that don't.
I'm not being harsh - this is just the way every gym I've ever visited works. As a joke, we've listed friends names in their competition boxes and, right on queue, they call to harass the friend. If you don't participate in this completely annoying practice, then good on you. If I was being harsh, I would've neg'd it.
@pais: We're not a gym. We are not a personal training studio either. Our personal trainers meet people in locations that are convenient to them. If the client tries it, and doesn't like it, then thats the end of the story. Honestly. But thanks for spoiling my attempt to generate some more interest in my business and bravo for scaring any potential clients away. Honestly, thanks.
Really doubt you're the "best". I bet I'm a better trainer than your whole team combined. Personal trainers these days just pay for a certificate and go through a 6 week course. It's really hard to find good trainers these days…
Why on earth would you make a comment and assumption like that?
Our trainers are well qualified yes, but also have plenty of experience and they get their clients results. They would not be on the team if they didn't.
Many of our clients have been with us long term, which must mean that we are doing something right.
Maybe instead of getting jealous and attacking someone who is just trying to grow their business you should take a look at the state of the general health and fitness of people today, and realise we are just trying to create a positive influence on people's lives.
There is more than enough work to go around all of us you know, if thats what your worried about.
If I was looking for a "good trainer" I certainly would not be looking at someone with an attitude like yours.
I suppose you need to get your status updated to "REP".
