Gotta love the Masters vs Bunnings Friday night battle!!

  • What's tbe difference between this nine at $89 (norm $139) and the 'hammered' version at $159.?

Same part number but a H at the at the end of the expensive one?

    • +8

The hammered version has a big night, every night! It won't work in the morning and runs on red bull instead of gas.

      • Perfect for a Friday night…..

    • It's most likely just the finish

  • Is there only one Bunnings special for the weekend??

Shows $139 at my local bunnings too. Nerang qld.

    • Yup, $139 here.

The actual page takes a few hours to update. Have a look at the home page and it says $89

      It's on the front page.

      • Thanks for the suggestion guys. Found it on the front page like you said.

Lol. If you want to pay $10 more, here is the competition from masters. https://www.masters.com.au/product/101535928 . Gotta love this hardware war.

  • Can anyone comment on how much gas these rip through. Roughly how long would an 8.5kg bottle go for on full heat.

    • +2

On Full I Think 5-6 Hours …. I turn it a bit under full and get 8 solid hours. Gas bottles usually freeze up as they get low.

      • Cheers troyboy :-)

    • An 8.5kg bottle is just over 400MJ. So on full this should last about 10.5hr (at 38.5MJ/h)

  • These wouldn't be a good idea for under an alfresco right?

It'll probably leave gas marks on the ceiling?

    • Depends on the height of the ceiling and the gap between the top of the heater and it. 2 foot gap should be okay and you can adjust the flame down if the ceiling is getting overly hot.

What a great way to waste energy. Who gives a damn about climate change?

Picked one up tonight at Bunnings Morley $89.00 however had to show them the price on their website via my phone yo get the lower price

  • Can anyone do a Masters ($99) VS Bunnings ($89) comparison?

    • They are quite similar. Both have a segmented shaft with the Master's one having a slightly thicker shaft. The ignition area on the Bunning's one has the same protective grill as the burn area with the Master's one have more gaps.

The Bunning's demo one had 3 poles to support the gas cannister when you tip it to roll on the wheels.

      We're getting the Bunning's one.

Oh and the Master's one is a darker grey as opposed to a lighter silver powder coat at Bunning's.

      • Thanks. So safe to say master's not worth the extra $10?

        • Up to you really. I've put our together and given it a trial run. Wife isn't sure she likes it as our alfresco has 3 big sliding doors (1 into the house, 2 facing out) which she doesn't want to open and she says the gas smells… :|

Crack one of the outside ones a bit, keep the internal one open, and it seems to heat ok on low.

A few more trials will determine if it's a keeper.

  • how does something like this compare? http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Innopow…

stainless steel.. is there much difference vs these ones?

  • Does anyone know if the height of these are adjustable? Can you leave out one of the poles to make it shorter?
