Myer seems to have a sale every second week. 40% off seems like what the normal price should have been, especially with a lot of those Myer exclusive brands which probably had a substantial markup to start off with.

It is new trend with Aussie retailers as they are getting us used to high prices so that we can rush and buys 50% off items….. Like Woolworths and Coles…. sliced breads $3 save 50%… toothbrushes $2.50 save 50%…. that is how much they should be…….

    • It's how department stores work. They sell at rrp then do discounts.

It's technically not a Mark up, just rrp. Haha.

If 50% Off is the highest they will do for ya bread and it's not every day special then you may as well rush to buy it lol.

Looks like the shaver shop is selling the shaver listed at top for $29.95.

Now I have to work out where it's going to go :)

    • I saw that in Adelaide on Monday for $39.

hmm i'm still waiting for the 50 off 50

Can anyone recommend a good coffee machine from page 42-43?

    • What's your budget?

The BES920 is down to $1399 but it does come up around the $1000 mark occasionally.

But yeah they have a ton of them so I;d say get a rough idea of what you want (pod or self-grind etc) and a budget then let google be your friend.

I also check ebay to see what everyone's getting rid of. And I dont buy that.

Something for people into makeup, Chi Chi eyeshadow palettes are generally really good!! They have a dupe of Naked 1 & 2, called Nudes and Bronzes respectively. Also I believe Myer is one of the few places that stock Chi Chi. Usually $20 for a palette, atm $13.77, well worth IMO :)

Always wondered why bonds underwear sells for $20 retail. Its almost like theft.

    • +6

      Underwear thieves.

    • Suffer in your jocks? ;)

They used to be manufactured in Australia, which could have accounted for their high price.
They moved manufacturing off shore but kept the price up. People who werent around 30 years ago when they were a basics range now think theyre a high end brand. And to these people, the pricing proves it.

  • Any pillow recommendations? The Apple iphone of pillows perhaps.

Like this one: Tempur Symphony Medium Pillow for $154 (Usually $220) @ Harvey Norman

Do you mean you want over rated and over priced pillows that only work with one type of bed?

      • -1

Better than an Andriod pillow with bed bugs included and getting stuck with the same bed forever because you can't upgrade it :)

Hi I have one! it takes a bit of time getting use to as it is a lot firmer (A LOT) than your usual 20 dollar pillow. However, I have noticed that I wake up a lot fresher as it supports the neck and head position during sleep. I was recommended to use it by my physiotherapist.

It is expensive, however when you think about you spend half your life sleeping so a few hundy extra isn't a big deal.

In terms of getting it cheaper…. Price match at DJs and use gift cards or an Amex deal :)

      • you spend half your life sleeping

A third would be more accurate.

    • Dunlopillo is pretty good. About 80 each. Memory foam is also pretty comfortable.
I was sceptical at first. I used to only use 20 buck tontine pillows but spending extra really is a good investment for good sleeping comfort IMHO

Yeah got one of these at the last sale a couple of weeks back. Does a much better job than the sunbeam 680 we had. The coffee tastes a lot richer.

  • Are Those after discount suit prices reasonable cheap?

    • No different to their usual sales as stated, I've bought 2 of the blaq suit pants previously both times I've paid less than the current $50~

I have most of my luck with their suits in store on the "take a further % off"

      • So this offer is only for Myer brand suits? How about other brands like politix?

  • These look like the normal prices that are in store most of the time…

    • Yeah it does seem like Myer et al are having these sales more and more to help stop people buying online etc.

  • Looks like the site just crashed…

    • Same here :(. I'm only trying to look a bed linen!

    • I had that problem using chrome however site working in safari. For some reason prices were a lot cheaper mid week, I am talking 3,4 and 5 times cheaper.

      • I'm using safari on my iPad. Site still appears broken.

        • Still works on my imac in Safari and Firefox however not in Chrome

As others have said it seems every 2-3 weeks its the same myer sale over and over.

  • Just went in store and bought the 3 piece set of Monsac Quadlite suitcases at 50% off. Very happy with that as we are travelling next week and these seemed to be a better quality item than the American Tourister equivalents.

  • Was told we needed a new rubbish bin and found that the Simplehuman Round 30 Litre step bin was on special at $77.40 from $129 http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/simple-human-simplehuman… can’t complain as at Howard Storage World it is $209 http://www.hsw.com.au/?product&id_prod=26&id_cat=106&id_dept…. (Im 99% sure it is the same one but 100 above retail price really)
Myer sales are good when you are told you need something

    • Wow hsw is a rort, look identical
