I had bad experience with Kingston from Norton deal. Both dead a few weeks

    • +14

Kingston and Norton are both dead? Has somebody informed the authorities?

I've personally never had any issues with Kingston.

    • Kingston has always been good for me too. Just bought 2 of these exact cards from Kogan a few months ago for car dash cams - going great. Australian 'Lifetime' warranty card on back too.

    • I too have had multiple Kingston sds die on me. Normally in phones.

    • you killed them both…………..

  • never mind

  • Nice find thanks op.

  • When OP says "only class 10" what's the higher speeds ones called and how much is the speed difference? (last time I checked which admittedly was a long time ago class 10 was the bomb)

    • +1

its the best of 'normal' micro sd cards but then theres ultra high speed classes 1-3.

      • Do you happen to know how much the speed difference actually is? I have a Sony 20Mp camera that shoots raw and I am trying to work out if I would see much of a difference with these faster cards (currently have a class 10)

        • +2

If you only shoot single-shot photos, even with 20mp RAW format, this class 10 card will work fine. You just have to wait slightly longer in between shots for the photo to be written into the card.

If you want to shoot those 20mp photos in fast burst mode or shooting Full HD video, then probably safer to get faster cards.

        • @edfoo: yeah this is what I am dealing with at, if the first shot or two are out of focus or have some other issue by the 3rd or 4th I am waiting for the thing to finish something. Wasn't sure at first if it was the flash recharge but pretty sure it was happening with no flash too. I don't shoot that much so will persevere for the time being

  • How did tightarses deal even get 1000 votes. $9 for 8gb, while this is 4 times the size for only 4.60 more. Essentially 400% gain for 50% increase in price. Or am I missing something here?

    • +9

I believe the deal you are referring to is the 8gb Sandisk Extreme Pro for $8.95 - The Extreme pro is a (near) top of the line Micro SD card with much faster write speeds than the card here, hence the difference in price per GB.

      • Thanks

plus it was TA,…. well, the name add some votes.

hard to tell when something's actually a really good deal or just a popularity contest these days…

    • Indeed, and it's a SanDisk. Looks like I've overpaid by a wooping 33% for the Kingston.

    • And it has also ended.

    • I bought this one. Still haven't received it yet and the seller is no longer registered on ebay.
      Refund time.

Kingstons are good for the GWC-1 (sp?) dash cams right?

    • Yes, I have this card in my G1W-C and works fine.

    • Yep, running this same card in one of my G1W-C with no problems. Class 4 is enough though.

      • I had a Kingston 32GB Class 4 and got memory errors, so I switched to the Class 10.

        • My Toshiba 32GB Class 4 and Kingston 8GB Class 4 are both fine. Still, this deal is a winner. Bought 3.

great, should work nice for my dash cam I got from a deal a few days ago :D

The 64gb is $27.something too. Cheaper than when SE had the specials

  • so cheap

  • Damnit! I paid $2 more from Futu just last week lol

  • Thanks Op. This will go well with my dashcam

    • Hmmm PayPal charged me $17 but when I entered the code, it was $13.60

      • Did you use the code more than once?

        • I thought you can use that C20EXTRA up to 3 times?

      • Yeah. Happened to me too. first time using the code

        • got charged the full price too. paypal only has an option to complain about the seller, cant start a dispute with paypal themselves

          @lakers1222:
Just checked the email confirmation. It was $13.4. Seems like the real amount charged to my card is correct

        • @Jared17:
