VPN Unlimited: Lifetime Subscription.

This this was more expensive previously.

I did a lot of research and this can be used for torrents, but somewhere in a post they mentioned to throttle you if you use to much.

The reviews are okay, there product uses openvpn under the hood.

Using and downloading torrents as i write this.

Any info required? Go here https://torrentfreak.com/anonymous-vpn-service-provider-revi… search for VPN Unlimited.

  • What sort of speed do you get when downloading?

    • The torrents are old but i'm getting 300kb/s, i manage to get 1mb of a new one.

      • If you don't mind me asking OP, just out of curiosity, what internet provider and speeds are you using/getting?

        • +1

I'm with TPG that's why i need an VPN cause i've already got a few letters, on the latest torrent with heaps of seeders i've seen it go to aproxiately 800kb/s right now i'm doing Games of thrones Season 5 it's at 300ish +- 50

        • @Unbreakable: damn, I'm with TPG too, time to protect myself then. Are the letters you are referring to those 3 strikes you'll get reported to the copyright holder ones?

        • +1

          @eviledward:
Nah there is nothing about three strikes, I've already got a few of these definitely over three anyway. I think with new laws 50 bucks is worth the peace of mind for me.

@Unbreakable: Definitely, thanks for sharing! Will use your referral link as well!

    • I cannot find where to enter the discount code. After I choose lifetime, it goes directly to payment. I plan to use paypal. Should I enter the code before the paypay payment?

      Thanks.

  • So am i right in saying that this VPN works not at the router but rather on each individual device? If so, that's what im looking for.

    • Thanks OP i used your referral link

    • Does that mean we can share this service with others (up to maximum of 5 devices of course)?

      • +1

I guess so, just give them your username/password and you can.

    • Yes your correct!

  • Couple of bucks off with code: tenfeet.

  • I am new to VPN, so forgive my ignorance.

I have joined vpn unlimited through you link. I installed the program and do the set up. I now have a icon in my system tray.

But I don't know how to use it to try torrent. Could you give me some hint or brief tutorial how to do it?

    Many thanks.

(I did try to google but still very confusing).

    • Right,

With this kind of VPN application, as soon as you turn the vpn on (press connected in VPN Unlimited and see GREEN connected status) it pipes all your traffic via your VPN, therefore at this stage you could turn on your torrent application at this stage and it will start downloading via your VPN.

Just make sure to dowload and add your torrent tracker files before hand.

      Thanks

      • Unbreakable

Thanks for your instructions. Do you mean that I should download the torrent before I turned on the VPN?
Will all my Internet activities, just as surfing or direct download, e.g. from itune, also go through the VPN?
In that case I should not start VPN when I start Windows. Is it correct?

        To summarize the steps are:

        1. download the torrent
        2. add to utorrent
        3. turn on VPN
        4. Start utorrent
        5. start downloading

        Thank you.

        • @seniodoc
I mean you need to download your .torrent file before you start you vpn.

All your other activites are fine to go normally, direct download is a funny one, i use it, never got a letter, but i think it's still consider piracy, i think i your not seeding (like you are with the VPN) it your generally okay.

Exactly don't start the VPN when you turn your pc on, your sets are good.

  • Hi, I downloaded the trial, testing it now…

Torrent without VPN (disconnected) is ~1000 kB/s
Torrent with VPN (connected) is 80 kB/s

Just wondering if others have this discrepancy or is it a trial user throttling thing?

    • Here are my speeds,

Speed test from my house, without vpn 16mb, with vpn 15mb/s

Speed test at the Telstra store in Sydney City CBD, without vpn 160mb/s, with vpn 60/mbs

They are both using the Sydney VPN.

      Thanks

  • Yep, sorry I wasnt clear I meant to ask if there was throttling during the trial period. I did change the server to Texas and got about 600kBs (my line is around 8-12Mbps)
