    • Poor JV. He can't say anything without copping a bashing.

don't waste your money on these, we had the previous gen pendo's with the 1280x800 screen, usb host port, usb port (so 2x usb ports one you can charge through) micro hdmi which coles cleared out ages ago for 49.

Mine got stolen and I scored one of these on clearance for $40 two weeks ago, these things are terrible, can barely run aps or games and the touch screen is horrific on response.

I highly suggest you avoid these.

  • 10" at 1024 x 768, with 1GB of RAM…. I'd rather go Chuwi

Fair enough, but you are paying about 40 bucks more, no local warranty, 2" smaller. These are all factors

      • What is the point of a 10" screen if you can count pixels from a metre distance?
I guess it's very subjective, but I am not so sure that the specs make it fit for (any) purpose.

As laptops are typically 1366x768 resolution, the 1024x768 resolution of the tablet is the same vertically, and 3/4 the resolution horizontally - which it should be, as the aspect ratios are different. So it's the same resolution as a laptop's screen with 1/8th of the screen cropped to the left and right.

Most people are happy with the resolution of their laptops, why wouldn't they be happy with essentially the same resolution on a tablet?

        • @Russ: only reason is they are caught up in a resolution race, importance of specs are overestimated, what is important is that people get something they are satisfied with. What matters more is if it's IPS, you can have your pixels but if the screen sucks it matters little IMO

I got the 7" for $35 from Dickies a while back (thanks ozbargain!) and I probably wouldn't recommend paying more than that. It's incredibly slow, battery life is absolutely abysmal and it uses a TN LCD panel which means using it in portrait orientation is pretty much out of the question unless you love eye strain. You get what you pay for with these. Can't speak for the 9" but the lower pixel density would worry me a bit, especially if it uses TN too.

  • I've looked at the display units and the resolution / PPI is pretty bad. Would not recommend one for reading or browsing on.

  • I noticed the 9.7" only has a headphone jack. No speakers
