Altec Lansing FX4021 2.1 Speakers - 45W, Wireless Remote. @ Austin Comp. WA for $49 pick up OR..

20

$49 for the Altec Lansing FX4021.
From Austin Computers WA. Pickup only. OR $59 + $35 postage for elsewhere. $35 postage is the minimum postage rate, so if you buy 3 units for example you will still only pay $35 postage.

Expires on Sat 12th (the $49 walk in deal, not sure about the $59 delivered deal though, might continue)

This is the cheapest 2.1 speaker system with a wireless remote by a long way. It's 45W RMS too.
A great option for a home/bedroom stereo.
Also a great option if you want to use a LCD monitor as a TV, because you can plug in your DVD Recorder or PVR and use the remote for that to change channels. And then you plug the speakers in to the DVD/PVR via a RCA to 3.5mm audio adapter. You need a speaker system with a wireless remote so you can adjust volume without having to get up off the couch.
This has been the biggest dilemma with using an LCD as a TV cause it requires a speaker system with remote to control volume, and until i saw this unit the cheapest option was $150+. Anyway that's just a little sidebar i thought i'd mention.

  • Postage killed the deal.

    • Yeah i didn't mention that it's WA walk in only in the title, cause i think it's a good deal anyway (and there wasn't enough room left).

If you had some friends or family keen too, you could buy 4 units and pay only $35 for the postage. Which works out to be $59 + $9 postage per unit, $68 total.
Considering it's $150+ outside of WA for some reason i think even 1 unit for $94 is not so bad. And this is the cheapest price compared with other WA store.

  • +1

Cheaper elsewhere if postage is included. Netplus has these with free delivery for ocau users.

    • Ahh yes true, i was not aware of the free delivery for ocau. Otherwise it's $97 delivered from netplus, or $103 if you get insurance and pay via credit card.
$78 is a good price 4 delivered (extra for CC payment and insurance).

So the original bargain is only good if you live in WA, or if you're in another state and buy 2 or more.
From Austin Computers, delivered to non-WA resident:
      1 unit: $94ea
      2 units: $76.50ea
      3 units: $70.65ea
      4 units: $67.75ea

The only other option is if you've got a mate (or fellow OZbargain'er) in WA who was willing to pick one up for you and post it to you. Probably cost about $20 postage.

  • I was excited until I read that the postage was $35 … Perhaps I should live in WA

    • Ok i've edited the title.
