I think he's wondering, if you want to listen to something, why do it on a radio powered by drill batteries, instead of
a)an mp3 player/ipod/ any phone made in the last 5 years
b)a pocket radio
c)a dedicated radio or 'boombox', the kind that runs on D cell batteries that everyone seemed to have in the 90s
step one: set up radio on site
step two: find secure/ safe place to put lunch box
step three: walk around site, sing to the music
step four: smoko time! sit down, eat and continue to listen to music
home users don't have a clue, tradies get it.
Its mostly gimmicky.. its really just an added bonus which costs the company almost nothing to make

It's the same as the torches they bundle.
I have much better brighter torches that don't need a 18v drill battery to run.

A word of advice for those who have purchased or will purchase, register it online (on AEG website) and you receive 6 years product warranty and 3 years battery warranty.
are these brushless?
From memory — this is not brushless. Comes with soft bag, not hard case.
Also it's a HAMMER drill, not just a plain drill which is useful at times.
I've had AEG batteries go dead as well, so make sure you register them for the full three years.
I got the Makita 2pc brushless kit with 3Ah batteries and case for $399, however I paid just over $210
I bought a non-brushless Makita set from an apprentice on site many years ago after he had trashed it for a few years and it served me perfectly until I misplaced it recently. I used it around the house and on my car.
I got a contractor that works for me to buy me this AEG kit yesterday and I'm pretty happy with it for the price.
If I had a Makita Impact Driver still going well after probably 3 years of abuse and 4 years of light work without needing to change the brushes, I'm pretty sure this kit will be fine in the long run too.

BTW, that radio is not 240V. It uses one of the batteries to run so then your drill only has one battery.
