If you own a motorcycle and you want to sell it, you usually have to pay to list that motorcycle on most classifieds websites. We are offering this service for free. We are allowing sellers to advertise their bikes for free. Is that not a bargain?

    • How much is it once you sell?

      • +1

We don't make a cent if seller sells their bike via our website.

G'day Yoba, Free listing offer is valid until 30th Sept. Once your bike is listed, it remains listed until you sell it.

OP. You are replying to others. So, why don't you answer my questions?

What is your usual price for this?

When did you last charge for listings?

  • I was just thinking about getting a motorcycle licence :D

    • You won't regret it :) Which bike are you thinking about buying?

      • I've no idea - my younger brother has a Kawasaki Ninja and he seems to like it.

Any recommendations as to the type of motorcycle to get/good features to look out for?

Also, any places in Victoria that teach motorcycle riding that you'd recommend as well?

        • +1

RE - Recommendations as to type of bike - here are a few things to consider to help narrow down your decision

What type of trips do you plan on taking?

          a. Simple transportation – short trips running errands, visiting friends, etc.
          b. Commuting to work each day
          c. Short leisurely trips less than 150 km
          d. Day long outings – 200 to 300 km
          e. Multiple day touring trips

If it's (a) / (b) then go for commuter style of bike. Typically, what you call a 'Naked' bike. The riding position is up upright, and the handle bars are wider than they are on sports bikes so they can be maneuvered easily in traffic. LAMS Examples Honda VTR-250 (Nice V-Twin sound), Suzuki GS500, Honda CB400, KTM 300/200 Duke to name a few.

If you are (c) Sunday morning rider (Like me these days) then a Sports bike might be the way to go. Very similar to the Naked bikes, but the riding position is slightly more aggressive. When you are seated in the saddle, you'll find that you are reaching further to handle bars and feel more on top of the bars and over the fuel tank. Not so good for your back when your riding in traffic, but the perfect position to be riding in, if you are going to attack some undulating corners on a nice road. LAMS examples Kawasaki Ninja 250R / 300R, Honda CBR250, Honda CBR500, Yamaha YZF-R3 (just released this month and looks the business!)

Or (d)/(e) - You might want to think about a Sport Tourer or Cruiser style of motorcycle. Sports tourers have similar characteristics to that of sport bikes in terms of the power delivery, however, they are more upright like a Naked bike. They often have plush seats for long rides and also have large fuel tanks so you can ride all day long with minimal fuel stops. The Sports tourers usually have good storage and often sold with storage accessories such as panniers and mounting racks. This style of bike would also be good for commuting to work as well… and I suppose you could stick a few days worth of groceries into the panniers if you have them installed.LAMS Examples: Suzuki GSX650, Kawasaki Ninja 650L, Yamaha FZ6R

Or Cruiser - These are essentially your lounge chair on 2 wheels. Super relaxed riding position, with a lower seat height when compared to the above mention types of bikes. Cruisers allow for saddlebags so storage is never a problem and if you're riding with a partner (pillion) they'll have plenty of room to themselves. LAMS Examples: Yamaha Virago 250, Laro ProStreet 350, Hyosung GV250 Aquilia

The competition in the LAMS market is so hot, that the big brand names are introducing features that were only ever offered to the top of the line models. Things like ABS braking, adjustable suspension, digital consoles are becoming the standard for these entry level bikes.

AS for riding schools - check out Stay Upright in Victoria. These have something for first timers, track day enthusiasts and now even adventure rider training.

          Hope this information was helpful.
          Cheers.
