  • I assume that's Australian dollars??

Top right hand cnr of site is currency selection
      AUD is$63.86

      • +1 There is no justification for quoting US prices for a Chinese shop, when they'll just as easily quote AUD.

        Poster, please fix the header.

The box format of this, ether, and s/pdif is nice. But for most people, the better bargain would still be the MK808B plus (Amlogic based) for A$41 delivered.

I don't think the Android Netflix app can even do full-HD, let alone 4K.

        • update: the Android-TV netflix app now does 4K and 5.1, but needs Android 5.1.

But 4K is more useful for showing still photos anyway. If you happen to have a 4K TV, I'd get this just for that.

@manic: H.265 will eventually replace H.264 as the standard codec used for video files as compression is greater allowing better quality in smaller files and it's not only for 4K.

          @Junk Collection:

Yes, but the MK808B plus that I mentioned (or any other S805 based box) also does h265 in hardware.

  • Hey, does this have all the software that lets you stream tv shows and movies from the internet?

  • +2

Man, I wasn't going to get it, but that "prevent burn" circuit just sounds so damn alluring…

    • +1

I should get that for when some of my "punny" comments don't work out as well as I intend!

  • HI rep, are there any linux builds for this yet?

  • Rep I've heard a lot about 4K android boxes but what would you use to test this ?

    Youtube 4k ? Netflix 4k ?

    • Doubt it can do 4K YouTube or Netflix. You'd have to play 4K content on Kodi or something.

      • They always sprunking 4K but I've never seen any detail about how it would function or even the file format for h265.

Anyhow I probably go the GTX970 or GTX960 if it came down to it.

        • this makes no sense

        • I probably go the GTX970 or GTX960 i

A very inefficient, hot & noisy solution, considering that a $5 SoC can do the job.

  • you would think they would be shipping android 5 lollipop by now.

My questions are answered… Please disperse…. Nothing to see here..

  • I would jump at it if it had a 2GB RAM and Wireless ac.

  • Does anyone know what this is like compared to the one in this link? apparently can do 4k
