    DUPE

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/191939

It's been this price for a while now…

    • +2

Agreed, I'm sure that price didn't expire.

    • I reported the dupe. Mods have marked the original post as expired to avoid confusion.

      Reply from Mods:

Block-quote Thanks for letting us know, that deal was actually expired originally some days ago and thus why this was reposted. It looks like previous OP may have unexpired it since, but I've marked it expired again to avoid confusion. As that previous deal was expired and more than 1 month passed we judged this new post not to be a duplicate as per guidelines. Thanks!

Never used them before - heard mixed reviews though so don't hold me responsible.. :)

And they're in DickSmith for $99 too:

I'm in the market to buy an electric toothbrush - I normally don't cross examine every post like this, sorry!

    • +1

Different model, or package atleast. Don't know the details but that's a 500 vs 5000

    • +1

Ones got an iq the others don't

    • My dentist actually recommended this toothbrush to me. (I didn't know they really did that!) But I've had it a couple of years now, I brush the same way I used to and the dentist loves the results.

Wrong model u got there Deviner

Ahh, I'm blind - they even look different too haha :)

Wow.. that's the DS one.. $239.99.

  • Bought this on their last sale, works pretty well, much better the round-head type one we had. Got some replacement heads while they were on sale as well.

    • Does the "motivational quadrant timer" vibrate through the hand piece (or is it just a visual display)?

I'd be keen to get one if it's just visual.
I ditched my Braun as it vibrates in the hand piece - after a while I found it annoying and went back to a plain and simple toothbrush.

      • Vibrates through the handpiece too (every 30 secs)

I have used the rotating Oral B electric toothbrushes.
(As recommended by the ADA, with payment I guess from Oral B for the recommendation.)
They are good and are still recommended by Choice, (I think).

Now I am using the Colgate Pro-Clinical A1500 toothbrush.
Yes, it is noisier and if you touch the head of it to a tooth during use, the vibration is not so pleasant.
How-ever, after 3 years of not seeing a dentist, (which I don't recommend,) I was surprised to find from my recent dental visit, that my teeth are in good condition, with no caries.
So I give credit for that result to the A1500.

I also think the Phillips ultra-sonic brushes are good too, except for the pricey models with unnecessary features.

C-Nut thanks for the feedback - I will skip on this one.

marcozmitch thanks too. Noisier and vibration is ok - but keen to avoid the "motivational" 30 second reminders.
I had a look at the Colgate A1500, appears to have a 30 second pacer too unfortunately.

Possibly just me but - running behind on the last quadrant … speeding up to make up time on the next quadrant … finishing on the spot of 2 minutes - do people really do that?

        • I find it useful. I do 30secs each, then at 2mins spend 30 secs on middle top and bottom so I don't miss the quadrant boundaries. :)

        • You can turn it off completely though, I have set mine to only vibrate at the 2 minute mark, but you can even turn it off completely. Most people probably haven't read the manual…

        • @TRANCE:

          Thanks for the info.
Is it the "Count Up" timer that allows it to be turned off completely?

I've downloaded a few manuals and found 1 that makes reference to it:

You can choose between «Professional» or «2-Minute» timer and «Count up» or «Count down» timer.

Not sure whether all models have "Count Up" - will check with the store first before buying.

          @Daz:

Just checked manual now and I'm afraid there is no option to turn off vibrate completely, only options are "2 minute timer" and "professional" (vibrate 4 times total at 30sec or 45sec intervals depending on whether in daily clean mode or deep clean mode).

The count up or count down does not affect vibrate, just how the timer is displayed counting on the smart guide.

I don't think you should let the 2 minute vibrate bother you, it is literally over in a second and brushing automatically continues…

On the Colgate A1500, it just pauses momentarily, indicating that you could move to another "quadrant."
Easy to ignore if you want. It does stop after 2 minutes, but I finish earlier or take longer if I want.
There are 3 cleaning modes that alter the intensity, (if that is a problem.)

My Local Woolworths was clearing out the sensitive 4 brush-head packs for the A1500 for just $15.
On going brush-head cost is a consideration. You get 3(?) free with the A1500.

        • @TRANCE:

Yeah, you're probably right - 2 minute timer should be ok - maybe even a good thing.

  • Is the Oral-B Triumph Bluetooth Electric Toothbrush a good deal at 164.50?

What's the advantage of this model over the IQ5000?

      • Bluetooth to talk to an app
      • Tongue cleaning mode
      • Nicer travel pouch
      • Black

With the exception of tongue cleaning mode you will get an identical clean as they're the same actions and heads. Get the cheaper one.
