Trizone brush with wireless smart guide

    Does it use bluetooth ???

  • -2

Either its the wrong pic or its a different product. The separate display thing is different

    • +1

Not sure if this helps but, I picked one up today at Westfield Doncaster. The contents of the box is exactly as displayed in the myer advertisement and the brush is almost identical to the older IQ5000 we have at home (albeit different coloured rubber on the handle).

    • Myer ones are Ni-MH battery which is better than normal Ni-Cd battery used in Oral-B. Not sure about this one. Maybe this one is just a new looking of Trizong 5000. Myer ones are made in year 2014.

  • why u need bluetooth in a toothbrush? I reckon a laser guided toothbrush would be better to guide you brush your teeth??

    • I think it is to do away with the separate display…

  • just in time! my PC500 is on its last legs and only last 2-3 brushes per charge. Any idea if these can be picked up at the shopfront for the same price?

    • Yup they have the same prices online and instore.

If you can DIY change the batteries yourself?

    • Bought mine from Shaver Shop almost 2 years ago ($180 for 2!).
The one I've been using isn't holding charge as well as it used to, but not quite as bad as yours.

      • I'm sure it's quite an easy fix, pop it open and change the battery as wtfnodeal said.

        • +1

If it's anything like my Oral B, then it's not that simple. The batteries on mine are soldered onto the motherboard, so you need to be comfortable de-soldering and then soldering a new one. I did it earlier in the year and it wasn't too bad having not really done any soldering in the past, but I imagine some people wouldn't be comfortable doing it.

          @Smigit:

Where did you get the replacement battery from?

Mine is in a similar boat and found some videos that show how to do it, doesn't look too difficult.

Keen to avoid a crap replacement battery being purchased from some dodgy ebay seller.

        • @jollster101: haveu heard of eneloops?

        • @love2buy:

I have but when I watched the YouTube video about taking it apart the battery didn't look like a standard AA. I will have another look to see if it is though.

@jollster101: I got mine on eBay. I could go through my purchase history, but my tooth brush is an older model (same family however) so I'm not sure the battery would be the exact same one anyway. In any event, I ordered one with pre soldered joints on either end of the battery which made the task a tad simpler since they were a good size and position to align with the holes in the circuit board, and removed the need to solder anything to the battery itself.

I can look up my Ebay history later if needed, as well as see if I can find the guide I followed.

Prior to making the change I was getting maybe two days battery life out of the brush, having owned it for two to three years at that time. Currently I get probably closer to a month (estimate, but I rarely have to charge it now days).

        • oh wow, this is indeed ozbargain! But way too much effort for a dated toothbrush that's served me well over the past 5 years. I'm actually glad I can get a new 'upgraded' version without the guilt now :).

  • Thank you buddy, been waiting for one of these deals.

  • +1

Doesn't say it includes the travel case?

    • +1

It's included in the box! :)

  • +2

Besides perhaps holding a charge better are these any better than say the $30 electric toothbrush you get at the supermarket?

    • Yeah I'd like to know that as well…and why. :)

    • +2

The higher RPM motor makes you feel your teeth are cleaner than using the lower models. I have both PC500 and this. Another thing the pressure warning sensor helps if you usually press the brush against your gum too hardly while brushing your teeth.

      • I think that bits a gimmick really. I am no dentist but is it actually a common occurrence that people brush to hard, surely you would know by either feeling discomfort or bleeding.

        • Your dentist will tell you if you press the brush too hardly against your gum even if it doesnt bleed. I dont know how to tell but they just know so maybe this sensor helps?

        • @wtfnodeal:

Fair enough, I have never been told by my dentist that's an issue for me hence thinking is a gimmick.

        • I used to press too hard with my manual toothbrush, to the point where the dentist was warning me that my gums were receeding and they wouldn't come back - so a useful feature for me. Difficult to know if it actually gives a better clean than a $30 one, but I am happy with mine.

      • Thanks for that, My wife has brushing too hard lately and is getting receding gums so it might come in handy.

P.S. it looks like it uses different heads that the other Oral B's, are they much more expensive as well?

        • The regular ones will fit. Others like floss action etc brush heads are just a ted more expensive than the regular ones.

        • @wtfnodeal: So the circular ones will fit on this brush and work?

          edit: from the website:

          Brush heads
Compatible with all brush heads (except Sonic)

  • I'm curious does anyone have more than 1 of these toothbrushes at home, are the timers individually linked to the toothbrush, or anyone using one activate both timers in the bathroom

  • +1

Remember if you are going to use the 4% cashrewards discount you need to join and then activate your account via your email BEFORE you can shop to gain the 4% discount. Then click through to the Shavershop.

  • Only problem with these are that the brush heads are bloody expensive!

I've returned to normal brushes since.

    • Use normal toothbrush in the morning, and this at night to thoroughly clean your teeth before going to bed. Probably can use the head for at least 6 month before changing it

      • For those that down voted, please do tell me where you are getting these heads for cheap?

  • Does myer have them? Chances of price match? I got so many vouchers from myerone

  • I was shattered I missed the Myer one. Thanks OP I picked up 2!

  • +1

Also they have the 2 pack replaceable heads for $7.99

    • Shavershop?

      • Yes.mothers day special.

    • shipping $10

      • Or $1 petrol to pick it up in store

      • I will go get it from the shop directly, the shipping is expensive and the 4% from cash reward doesnt even manage to offset it even if I buy 2 toothbrush.

        • +1

There is a banner that says free shipping for orders over $100, but doesn't seem to be working properly.

        • +1

          @Domingo: because it is $99?

        • +1

@wtfnodeal: If you read this specific comment thread, it starts with

Also they have the 2 pack replaceable heads for $7.99

I was adding the 2 pack replacable heads to the toothbrush and getting it over $100, but free shipping still did not apply.

In any case, it's free shipping for the toothbrush @ $99 anyway.

        • @Domingo:

Found the problem. Once I add the Trizone refill to my 2 toothbrush and checkout, I get slug with $10 shipping charges. Remove the refill, its free shipping again. Will buy it online and get the cash reward.

        • @tron07: Still annoying that they advertise free shipping for orders over $100, but an order over $100 has a $10 shipping charge.

    • Been to Shaver shop today, the shop is selling the 2 pack trizone replacement heads for $11.95 or 2 for $20 INSTORE, not sure if they offer the online price instore for $7.99 strange…

      • I was able to purchase them at $7.99

      • They were $7.99 in-store when I went today, and they also had the 4 pack for $15.50.

      • I bought 3 packs yesterday at 7.99 each

  • For those on the fence - here's a review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWV37zkPCZY

  • Where does this model sit in comparison to the IQ5000? Newer model, higher end etc.?

    • +1

Same level, see my above post.

  • Is anyone else not able to log into the site?

  • -2

    $159 now!!

  • Anyone know if these heads are compatible with the Triumph 5000?

Edit: Checked the website and it is compatible. Awesome

  • lmao 24hours to chargeup first time

    • I thought there might be something wrong with the battery on mine!

  • Did anyone get the 3 spare different heads in the pack as per the website?
"Includes 3 interchangeable heads – Floss Action, Pro Bright, Sensitive"

Or did you just receive 3 spare trizone heads?

    • +1

Bought 2 today, they come with 3 trizone heads.

    • Yup, were in the box.

  • Damn misprint on the website! Made me buy the wrong spares and now have heaps of trizones.

    Oh well.

  • Thanks just picked one up.

  • Thanks just got one from Doncaster. They have heaps. Also had the 2 pack refills on special.
