Requires facebook sign in :( no thanks.

    • Hmm. I just filled out the form for a sample, with name, address, email etc. Didn't see Facebook anywhere (and I don't have one either). Already received a confirmation email from Bulk Nutrients too.

      • Same, no FB for me. Just postal address.

        Thanks OP!

      • Received sample today in the post. Impressively fast (wasn't expecting it so soon, tbh). Needed it too.

        Thanks OP.

    • Yeah the Facebook signin is a required field, when I hit submit it throws me to a Facebook login page. Perhaps as I'm on a mobile device? Its a shame I just placed an order with BN would like to try out the BCAA's

      • That happened to me too, even though I'm on a computer

  • Thanks OP.Ordered one…

I used to buy my protein from these guys but it gave me REALLY bad flatulence (not just the amount, but the intensity). People are obviously going to have varying levels of tolerance with protein products, but through a bit of research, I learned that my problems were related to not only the type of protein I was consuming, but the quality. It is cheap for a reason, and the most expensive isn't necessarily the best (e.g. Optimum Nutrition).

That said, these guys are easy to buy from and ship/post with no problems. I used to buy the chocolate whey concentrate, and the chocolate soy concentrate. The whey mixed well in just water with a shaker bottle, but the soy could definately do with a blender. The soy isn't overly thick either, it.

If anyone is interested - I did eventually find a protein power that didn't give me any problems. SunWarrior! Thank you pea protein!

    • or the product youre using now doesnt actually contain the actual amount of protein listed

im not sure how you would define "quality" of protein
but lab test on BN have showed good results from labeled protein to actual protein levels.

    • Too much information?

    • +1

If you changed to Pea protien to fix your problem then it sounds like any Whey would cause the problem not just bulk nutrients.

Could be a lactose issue WPI might have also fixed your problem it contains less lactose then WPC. You could also suppliment with Lactase which could help you digest the lactose and reduce your gas, Adding fibre also helps.

for the record WPC gives me gas WPI doesn't.

    • Try protein isolate if you don't handle protein concentrate very well.

Just hold in the gas and get massive, bro!

  • I'm using the Matrix now. It mixes terribly. Clumps together. You have to use a blender with this one.

  • Quick question, I've been purchasing the 10lb Optimum Whey gold standard protein for a higher price, is there a difference between these bulk nutrient ones?

    • -1

I don't think there has been any hard data to show Brands have better proteins, but the idea that "you get what you pay for" is generally true with buying anything. I have been using BN for 1.5 years now and I'm doing ok.

      • +1

They do protein testing too. You send a sample of your protein to a government lab and BN will pay the lab to test the protein %. From their FB page they're saying that a lot of big brands embellish the protein content of their respective products.

        For what it's worth.

        • Would you recommend I continue on with purchasing the optimum whey protein or should I buy the bulk nutrient ones since it's cutting almost half of the costs?

        • +1

          @SuperSemen:

Buy a kilo or two and try :)

        • +2

@SuperSemen: Save the money, these guys seriously rock.
I get the chocolate WPC, it smells like M&M's and tastes amazing. Couldn't recommend them more!

        • +2

          @SuperSemen:

Go with bulk nutrients. They lab test their protein. If your goal is to put on muscle make sure you get enough good carbs too

        • @SuperSemen:
In terms of quality you can't beat optimum. They're tested and tried. Maybe if you sent the bulk nutrients stuff to a lab to test you could find out. I personally use them without an issue.

Can vouch for Bulk Nutrients, I have been buying from them for about 2 years now. This is better quality than the Optimum whey gold standard especially if you purchase WPI. The Optimum is a mixture of WPC and WPI which is why you receive 24 grams per serve whilst the WPI from Bulk nutrients is 26.3 grams per serve. Personally I purchase the WPC anyway as it's better value for money than the WPI and you won't really notice the difference in your diet between to two

Their products have been tested over the years and always seems to be as advertised.

    • +1

No, if anything you will get more protein per $ with bn.

  • Thanks OP

  • You mean, the popup is on the "right" hand side of the main landing page.

    • Woops sorry- you're right. :)

  • Ordered mine about 2 weeks ago when the promo first started. Came fairly quickly and is a decent protein blend. Mixes better than the WPC which I normally buy.

  • Advice: Do not get cookies and cream, stick to chocolate and coffee

  • +1

Dammit, just ordered cookies and cream but didn't read last comment. I hope it's not that bad. But thanks OP.

    • The cookies and creams protein smell good but the flavour is very light when you consume it

    • I got a kilo of the stuff last week. It's ok, wouldn't get it again though. Tastes too artificial. At least you get to sample it before buying it!

Got the Choc Coconut too - I found that awful. Will be sticking with chocolate from now on.

Someone should send this to the man who made the topic about being on a budget and only having a toaster, if he is still alive.
