If you have ever wondered what effect an alcoholic drink has on your Blood Alcohol Level (BAC), now you can check for yourself. The tottering drunkard assuredly slurring that they can handle their drink is something that we have all been and seen. Show them just how much of a trashbag they are or monitor your own trashbaggery with this convenient BAC-checking keyring!

Simply breathe into the breathalyser and within seconds your blood alcohol content will either register as one of three options: Green 'Safety' below 0.02%; Yellow 'Caution' over 0.02%; or Yellow and Red 'Danger' of over 0.05%. I'd like to know if these are even remotely accurate

    • +6

      for $3, probably not very…

      • That's not a bargain then. It's a waste of $3…

    • +4

Sure they are accurate, all the cops have them.

    • Will this hold up in a court of law?

      • +2

        hahahahaha….

        (wipes tears)

        hahahahahaha….

No. No, they are not. They're a toy.

      The item description includes:

      Warning
Driving a vehicle after drinking any amount of alcohol is dangerous, increasing the risk of causing injury or death to yourself or others. A reading produced by the Digital Alcohol Breath Tester, as with all breath alcohol testers, is only a guide to your blood alcohol concentration (BAC). Your actual BAC may vary depending on your metabolism and other factors. As there are no safe levels of alcohol consumption before driving, please do not drink and drive.

This is basically their way of saying their product should be completely ignored. Especially that "there are no safe levels" bit.

wish everyone would stop posting individual items. just post the website sale as one post

    • +16

just post the website sale as one post

      a 'sale' isn't a bargain, read the posting rules…

If you're just interested in sales, just read the catalogues in your letter box…

    • +3

if they did that, JV would complain about there being no bargains

      • +2

you can list all the items in the one post. jv doesn't like when you don't list the items, and he is right

        • There is a first for everything .

          @troyww:
What gets me is, that if a deal has so many negative posts, it is 'suspended' and cannot post. Why doesn't the same happen to jv, would make OzB a lot better place.

      • +6

This is a bargain website… You're supposed to list bargains not sales…

Just because something appears in a sale, does not mean that it is the cheapest you can get it for…

  • do you need a visa for the check out?

    • negative

      Yes, 457

They come over here stealing our jobs and women, and now our bargains!!

This on a keyring seems like a really bad idea.

    • Could be on a bottle opener ;-)

  • waste of money,
i bought this one years ago

  • Not interested in this item but don't these guys offer you 10% off when signing up have had it in past and recently signed up with two emails and have had no such offer I'm even sure it used to pop up on screen?

I got to be pretty drunk if I'm gonna to believe this is actually gonna work.

    • +2

With grammar like that, you read like you already are.

  • +2

I have one of these. They don't work at all.

  • Have to agree with those above
    These don't work

  • Imagine using this as pathetic evidence if you are caught in the unfortunate incident of drink driving…

"But… But… But my key ring breathalyser said I was clearly under, Your Honour!"

  • Units such as these are wildly inaccurate. The only unit you can half trust is a calibrated fuel cell based tester. And they don't often sell for much under $500. Or just don't drink to the limit and then try to drive.

    • They have dropped in price these days. But still around $250 for a fuel cell based tester (bought one a couple of months ago)
