Oh wow. Flashback!
I remember developing a similar product about 10 years ago.Desktop or laptop PC with the following minimum configuration:
• 200MHz processor or faster
• 64MB RAM
• Internet Explorer 4.0, Netscape Navigator 4.7, Mozilla 1.1 or Opera
• CD-ROM drive
• Free USB 1.1 Port
• Windows® 98SE, Me, 2I don't get the correlation between your post and this device?
Read the manual helpfully provided by lzwdavid below.
I was emphasising how old it was based on the specs.
Understood :)

Lol @ strong DES/3DES encryption
Triple DES is still widely used and for most people offers enough security.
OP needs a keyboard deal with a functioning "Enter" key.
What is this "Enter" key you speak of?
right above the Any Key
These are crap and really really really old, I had one a decade ago if not longer.
so while hardware firewalls > software firewalls, this one is so old it's not even effective anymore?
It will still be 'effective'.
It just may be slower and not be useful for new attack methods.Hardware firewalls are just appliances running software. There is nothing better about hardware ones. This device was useful back in the day when cpus were slower, now basically everything has hardware accelerated AES and other instruction sets for things like hashing. If speed actually mattered using your own cpu would be faster.
a nob question, most hotels now have free WiFi, this unit does not work with WiFi as there is no mention of it in the manual, correct?
correct.
(unless you're going and doing something weird like using an wired ethernet to wifi bridge)
why people need this one instead of software VPN ?
If you have a 200MHz processor and 64MB RAM, this hardware VPN is definitely better than a software VPN.
