Who's says that you can't buy friends??

    • +11

My apologies Zapzap, what I meant was that $49.95 is pretty good price for a friend. I mean I usually play table tennis with my gf and I usually have to spend a lot more than $50.

      • she charges for ping pong?

        • +1

Not always, depends on her mood.

        • ha ha … will she charges for that …. …. ?

        • +8

          @superforever:

I wouldn't call it a direct charge… but you know… I would call it an indirect cost.

        • @Justing197:
          Payment for services rendered.lol

  • I can actually see people modding this thing like building an extension compartment above the machine to feed in more balls like the pro version

Now if only we got a cheap tennis ball machine…those things cost more than a grand for a decent one !!

    • +1

Yes, you could, but the only difference would be the capacity of the balls.

The lower model can't do the oscillation or different spins that the higher end models can.

  • +5

It's all fun and games until the machine runs out of balls and you're left to pick them up off of the ground and restock the machine.

    • +13

This is true, that is why we recommend you use it with heaps of balls, so at the end of a session you will have your own ball pit.

      • +1

Or a lot of home made smoke bombs.

    • It's all fun and games until the machine runs out of balls

That's why you have a three year old in the house who'll be thrilled to collect the balls and bring them to you.

    • Same issue with nerf gun battles :(

  • From the video the speed looks very slow? Is it good for professional table tennis player?

    • +10

It's good for a professional player around the ages of 8-12. After that you would need to upgrade. The most practical use of it is to give ball feel and coordination when you are just starting out.

Upvote purely because it made me stumble on this video… Pingpongers have a hilarious sense of humour apparently.

  • Reminds me of Thailand for some reason

      Hi Freewilly,

Do you refer to the ping pong balls or the companionship?

      • A bit of both i think

  • +1

For serious table tennis players, you will want a machine with at least
    1. top/back spin
    2. 2-point oscillation

    Optional
    1. change of frequency
    2. change of speed/spin
    3. change of oscillation angle
    4. change of projectile angle
    5. catch net or recycle net —> you can make it yourself
    6. preset drills
    7. programmable drills (only in med-high end models)
    8. level of spin independent of speed (only in high end models)

    • Couldnt agree more.

  • OP, how long does it take to fire the first shot after turning it on?

The video has a '15 seconds to fun' tagline, is that the lag?

Also, where is the on/off switch located?

    Thank you.

    • Hi Nova

The switch is on the side, and the 15 seconds refers to the ease of setup. In terms of the speed at which balls come out, it is designed for beginners, so it is slower than other models to give you time to reposition.

We are doomed as a human race.

    • That is true, however we believe that a ping pong robot will make the inevitabile much more enjoyable. I mean a best friend for only 49.95!

    • +5

I, for one, welcome our new pingpong-firing, robot overlords

This and a real doll and you have your own Thailand show…

Apologies for neglecting to include this in my original post.

  • looks like it only shoots straight, pretty boring.

    • This is the base model, there are slightly more expensive models which offer a lot more features.

  • Nothing beats a wall.

    • Except the Kool Aid man. Or Juggernaut.

    • Passive (wall) vs active (iPong)

  • Plus because of the good discount code name.

    Good price I guess too.
