People's dead things.
Last time I went I bought a bag of PS3 accessories for $5 that I sold online for about $100 - but hey, each to their own.
WOW what type of accessories if you don'r mind me asking. controllers?
Yeah, 2 controllers, a webcam, a stack of games and various cables. The games had been taken out of their cases and were in a stack, luckily they were all in good condition. I just put them in clear plastic cases and sold them that way. It was an especially good haul for the price - it really depends who prices things on the day.
@cheapskatechick: nice I once picked up a used snes with donkey kong for 50$ and a bag of nes games and controllers for 15$ but their pricing is sometimes strange e.g ps2 consoles might go for 10$ some days and 40$+ on others. even the same fat version.
@godofpizza: It is all down to who works in the stores. A lot of these stores now have Managers who are usually younger and are trained in pricing. Others have a more standard pricing structure and just put the same price on everything.
I am a bit of a retro electronics nerd, so I like to hunt those things down but more and more you see 'collectors' prices on these things. I bought an original Atari console (in box) with some strange gun attachment for $10 on the weekend. Who knows what that'll sell for on ebay!
@cheapskatechick: I saw one at saver going for about 150$. it apparently was sold a few days later.
@godofpizza: Nice! Keep hunting around, especially for NES stuff - there are a lot of collectors out there.
The place rocks, got a game cube last time,
but the best is baby clothes. They are practically new as babies wear things for a week and grown out of them. Save so much money.
I founded that the dvd players they have always have issues with them. Being the tray being stuck, I asked to test on site to save me a trip back to return it. but I always get a scripted returns policy response and each item is tested(to powers on) and a no for testing in store is allowed :(
There are all sorts of regulations around selling secondhand electrical equipment, which has meant a sharp decline in their availability in 'op shops'. It has lead to a 'AS IS' policy, if they bother at all anymore.
Dead people's things.
