  • What's the normal price for that?

      $79

It's the $129 device (Netgear 785S) with the $79 prepaid quota

The $79 device is (was) the 4G WiFi Plus (ZTE MF910) and not the Ultimate

The ZTE is a pos.. Just returned one today to get fixed since WIFI is no longer working after 6 months.

      • Would you recommend Netgear over ZTE, bchliu?

        • Absolutely. Sierra Wireless (now purchased by Netgear) is much better. I find my Huawei Vodafone Pocketwifi Extreme (3G) better than the ZTE which has caused me no end of grief on the wireless and routing, along with being questionable in quality.

In fact, the speed differences between the two were not much (on Telstra). I get a good full 17Mbit down on the Huawei at HSDPA (3.5G), whilst the ZTE MF910 (4G) is only getting me around 22Mbit down. My Netgear 4G USB card gets me around 30Mbit.

Telstra Ultimate at naming stuff ;)

  • Personally i think their "Huawei R215" way better especially considering the 3000mAh battery and how easy to get it working with other network, also its almost $100 on ebay with 3gb data 30days expiry.

    • R215 come with 1780mAh battery. Voda's R215 is just the same modem as Telstra's E5372T. The only difference is the color and the E5372T come with an extended 3500mAh battery, but R215 1780mAh. So it's weird the R215 always selling higher then E5372T on eBay.

  • Yeah, the Netgear has a 2000mAh battery, while the ZTE has a 2300mAh battery. Both supposed to be 10 hours, but bigger battery is almost always better, no?

    • I cant find anyplace to unlock their netgear lte wifi? Do you know anyway to get it working with other network?

      • With great difficulty! They seem very reluctant to unlock the Netgear (Sierra Wireless) ones. (It can be done apparently)

My old Sierra Wireless 760S from Telstra, I gave away because I couldn't unlock it. Grabbed an R215 from Voda when they were giving them away, and using a Telstra SIM in it) It cam unlocked from Voda

    well probably better than MF91….

The Kmart one is ZTE MF910. They use name " Telstra Pre-Paid 4G My Pocket Wi-Fi Plus". Yes, it has 2300mAh battery capacity, but it's a built in battery and very very hard to be replaced. But any way it's 4GX 700mHz device and 79.00 is still the cheapest 4GX wifi modem on market.
As I know, Kmart still has no Negear 785S for sale now, the cheapest selling price on market of this device is Office Works at 89.00 with 5GB data.

can confirm, went in and this is the case, Telstra Rep had been in that morning, Kmart does not stock the ultimate apparently. Could just be that one store however.

Funnily enough, was walking by Kmart Chatswood earlier, and yes, it's the Plus and not the Ultimate, so it is the normal price :(
