I just created a new account and applied the code and got it for $87.20

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive $108.00
    Order Subtotal $108.00
    Total Shipping $9.55
    Total Discount -$30.35
    GST Inc. $7.93
    Order Total $87.20

    • Yeah as per the item description, NEW10OFF works if you haven't already placed an order using that code.

The absolute best price would be achieved by buying 4 drives at $97.20 each, then using NEW10OFF.

Total cost would be $378.80 and you would get a $50 discount voucher for use from 1 to 14 June.

Reviews on Newegg.com are not great, seems they have a lot of returns on this model.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148…

    • It comes with a 2 year factory warranty.

At those specs (7200rpm) and at that price point the only other drive that comes close is the Hitachi - and the Hitachi has a far worse reputation.

Western Digital 2tb Red drives are 30%+ more.

Western Digital GREEN drives are around the same price, but they are not 7200rpm and their failure rate is the worst in the business thanks to their parking heads to save power…

I have 10 of these Seagates and all working fine for months….

      • I think you've somehow missed an internet full of backblaze info, updates & all the others reviewing/repeating the same. And that's just one vein.

Seagate's history of 2 & 3TB, along with their related treatment of customers, kepps them at the bottom of the list.

On another note, there's a lot more to HDDs than spinning at max speed.

        • Utopian you are the one missing the updates if you think WD Green are more liked or more reliable than Seagate 2/3 tb…

Anyway beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Load up on your WD Green drives and good luck to you - you will need it….

Yeah I tend to agree with the reviews there, I've got a couple of these on my desk atm dead and decaying. One was my torrent drive so all DLs from last week are gone, and the other just reads 'dad movies' on a sticker, not sure what that one was for… JK of course I managed to get those all backed up before it fully died.

    • Seagate used to be the best quality before taking over Samsung hard disk, don't know why now all consumer grade seagate drive now is from old samsmung factory, which has very short life time.

Samsung made some awesome and cheap drives. Was sorry to see them go.

Thanks, was after a 3tb and got it for $117.80

  • Forgive my ignorance here but why not get an SSD?

Can you get 2TB of storage on an SSD for $97? There's your answer.
