  • It looks so much like the Casio fx-82MS. Nice price :)

    • It's a clear rip-off of one, not a coincidence that the shape and model name resembles a Fx-82.

For anyone interested in calculator for uni or high school I'd highly recommend getting a calculator with a full dot matrix display — it makes inputting large calculations much easier (input natural textbook format) as well as for statistical calculations.

      • Approved for school use in exams?

        • not for HS. I used it for uni for 3 years straight, the examiners didn't give a toot about what calculator I used.

For high school, Fx 82 AU Plus II is more common and it's around $32 delivered via Calculator King

        • @scrimshaw:

          lol which uni was this?

  • +2

To anyone intending to get a exam-appropriate calculator, please please please get a Casio Fx-82 series or better.
    (i.e. 82AU, 82AU Plus, 82ES, 82ES Plus, 82MS Plus II, etc.)
It really does make you life tonnes easier.

(Don't waste your money buying a cheap calculator at the expense of your exam grades)

    • FYI, at RMIT for Engineering, not all the '82 range is approved for exam use.

"If it is Casio fx-82au with no other numbers/letters after au it is ok and approved." Thats what I received from the main office in 2013.

      • Pretty sure that would have changed.
The 'AU' was replaced by the 'AU plus', and now replaced by the 'AU plus II'.

Basically an updated version of the same calculator.
