    Nothing is intrinsically wrong with buying the headphones, as long as they suit you.

    In their own, comically gifted way, bargained and xuqi are pointing out that a stereotypically savvy/professional/ozbargain consumer:
    - identifies a need want
    - researchers the crap out of the most appropriate alternatives
    - makes an educated purchasing decision based on said research
    - creates an ozbargain subscription to the product to make themselves feel superior/inferior (depending on the personality of the consumer), under the guise of altruism in the sense that they will 'advise the noobs' who ask similar questions than they did in their original research.

    As you can see from their post history, both bargained and xuqi are fairly active users of the site. Thanks for your contributions guys/girls.

      Just adding onto what you are saying, headphones are fairly varied in terms of how they sound, so the value you get out from them depends on your preferences. So usually people recommend listening to a headphone before buying it for that reason. Price can be misleading and so are the other people's opinions since price =/= quality in a way since if you prefer certain sound, you might be better off with getting something that's cheaper but sounds that way.
