Bunnings - VARTA ALKALINE AA Batteries 30 Pack $8.98 ($0.30 Cents Per Battery)

240

There have been a lot of posts for AA batteries lately, but these VARTA cells seem to remain the cheapest AA Alkaline batteries available at the moment (excluding the odd clearance line that pops up from now and then at coles etc).

This is equivalent to $1.20 for a pack of 4. (at least 80% cheaper than the equivalent Duracell)

  • Varta is great (after Altec Power) in my opinion. Have been using these several years and for general use I find this batteries could last as long (if not longer) as the branded batteries. Good deal!

  • Awesome, have used varta for years and only ever had 1 battey that started leaking , whereas i have had several with everready and others

    • Well I wish it was the same for me - never again - had a number of varta's leak and even when the torch still had power, so exit my nice LED torch with corrosion all the way thru it.

And I was first to post here about Varta pricing a a year or so ago, when they had deals at golo. So just be careful

  • .

  • It seems like a great deal especially with Christmas coming round the corner.

On a side note, anyone know what the correct method of disposal is once the battery is depleted? I feel a bit guilty for saying I've binned them many times.

    • +1

You should be able to just bin alkaline batteries in Australia. I don't know any local council that say otherwise. The zinc in the batteries is ok for the tip. Just don't through lead-acid car batteries of Nickel Cadmium in the bin.

VARTA are a good German brand, not too much market penetration and advertising here, but very good.

      • Thanks for the tip and information, much appreciated.

Also yeah did a bit of research into the brand, they seem fairly reputable and strong.

  • Thanks, but still got loads and loads of Coles alkaline battery at 25c for 2.
Ps. Saw the tags 2 weeks ago selling for 5c for 2 in one of the Coles(as run out line). Anyone experience any problem with those battery

  • They've been that price for ages at Bunnings, this is not a special deal…

    • Yep your right, Bunnings don't have sales or specials (all catalogue prices are everyday prices) ….. I think that makes this price even more commendable!
