Opinion
I don't own one. The hardware itself looks great (very compact), and the pods include the most coffee. I'm satisfied with the Map Bella (Caffitally System) machine, and like it even more after this tip I posted previously https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/176753
Too bad Lavazza haven't licensed the system for other brands. Unless the pods come down in price, or are frequently discounted, this machine may prove popular to hack (reuse empty capsule pods) with own ground coffee, if that's even practical. Also a missed opportunity for Lavazza/Coles not discounting the pods a few $ while the machine is being promoted/discounted.
SUPERMARKET CAPSULE/POD COMPARISON
* Lavazza A Modo Mio range $10.99 ~ $11.99 (16 capsules each with 10g coffee, 160g total 7.5g coffee, 120g total) - 67c/pod (Sometimes discounted)
* Caffitally (e.g. Gloria Jeans ~ $7.50) 16 capsules each with 8 grams coffee, 128g total - 47c/pod (often discounted)
* Nespresso capsules (e.g. L'or Espresso ~ $6.50) 10 capsules each with 5-6g coffee, 52g total - 65c/pod (often discounted)
A number of the Lavazza pods were on special at Coles last week for $8. I just had 7 boxes delivered last night. With free delivery plus a $10 coupon and $15 cashrewards they came down to less than $5 per box.
Also David Jones has them on clearance if you can find any in store. Also $8 or $9.
