I've heard the quality is quite poor since they moved manufacturing to China.
some of their tools are from China and some Taiwan . my black chrome sockets are Taiwan. Stanley is so global I don't think they have variation in alloy used between countries, like kfc secret recipe same in all countries.

Got one last time they were on a big special… decent tools and the tool box is fine enough as well. Trays roll well, only bugbear is that the trays don't quite open all the way.
