    • That's why you don't vote up un realistic deal to get the attention!

    • "Did someone really go to Woolworths and tell them about this?"

Yes, someone did. Then they posted a screen shot of it on here too! You would assume it was some noob, or a kid, but sadly it was a seasoned OzBargainer. Completely bizarre behaviour, that I simply cannot fathom.

  • The people who got cancelled was your orders being delivered or picked up???

    • Pick up for mine.

      • Family member did the big order we were going to share between 4 households which was delivery.
My other sibling had a pick up cancelled and mine isn't cancelled yet with 2 hours to go collect.

  • +3

limit of 6, why not honour the 6 and refund the rest woolies.

  • Mine hasn't been cancelled as of yet, ordered 16x8 rolls at 9:15pm Perth time last night for click and collect this afternoon. I didn't order anything else….waiting for the cancellation email.

  • Ordered 38 packs for $25.78 (click and collect) at 02:21, received email that order was cancelled at 09:59.

  • Cancelled. Ordered 18 packs

    • I can't read that comment anymore. Why did he contact online chat? Was he complaining he can't use the codes?

      • maybe he forget to use some codes and not happy about it

    • +11

I think you all a being a bit harsh, he contirubutes a lot to ozbargain.. so many leechers on this site.

      • +2

I think so too (I'm guilty), guess TA was just checking if codes were legit.

        • +2

Yeah, way too harsh, I don't blame TA. They would've cancelled anyway. 5 Million Rolls of toilet paper ordered overnight, someone would have noticed.

        • Honest mistake.

        • @tonytone: removed comment.

        • "… guess TA was just checking if codes were legit."

What? That makes no sense whatsoever; the fact that the codes were working, proved they were legit. There is simply no logical explanation. That's why people are so perplexed.

        • -1

          @GnarlyKnuckles:
Actually I think (?) he had trouble with the code(s) himself, so he was probably just finding out whether they should be working. The jpg transcript wasn't explicit in my opinion.
If I'm wrong you can reread posts or ask TA I guess.
Anyway as Kingtightass and others said, lets drop it, it was not intentional, the fault lays clearly with Woolworth staff and method in my books.
I apologise if I'm wrong, as I did state it was a 'GUESS' above.

    • +5

You're pretty naive to think it wasn't going to be cancelled anyways

      • +5

I've had some pretty far fetched woolies orders go through (24pk coke anyone). The majority I've done get cancelled though usually due to no stock. In this case though it looks like they cancelled even with the items in stock.

      • +2

how would they have noticed?…They receive thousands of orders per day, don't think they would have people checking every order!

        • Actually, most modern supermarkets have an automated system that requires intervention if stock purchase or quantities trip a certain threshold.

      • "pretty naive to think it wasn't going to be cancelled anyways"

Not so. The recent epic Coke code-stack orders were nearly all honoured, and that was comparable to this deal. Same retailer.

    • Any chance you can point/summarize what happened? I saw the post with an image in it about someone contacting support with a link to OZB, but was it TA that did it? If so, I don't understand why he would do it.

    • +2

Give him a break. He is an OzBargain god, we have all made mistakes on here. My best deal about cheap iPhone 5 charger didnt eventually ship for iPhone 5 and I didnt get grilled as much for this. Its just toilet paper. Maybe now you guys should look for a deal on tissues to dry your tears.

  • cancelled.

  • Cancelled.

  • Not cancelled yet. 16 packs for 25.88 including free delivery Monday morning to my office lol

However, somehow doubt mine doesn't get cancelled. Too good of a deal.

Edit: Changed the delivery time to tomorrow morning. Not that they cancel the rest of the deals tomorrow arvo or so.

    • How come you changed the delivery times???

      • +1

I initially thought Monday morning would be better cause I'm in the office at that time. I changed it to tomorrow, actually don't care whether I'm in the office. Someone else can receive my 16 packs toilet paper lol

  • ORDER CANCELLED. Not happy Jan :(

  • I wonder if they are just cancelling the orders of 36 (as they would most probably be losing money)? The orders of 16 from last night will probably still go through. Mine is not cancelled yet.

    • Mine hasn't been cancelled either. Ordered 16 yesterday night at about 11. Doubt it that they make any money with this especially with the free delivery.

      What time have you ordered?

      • Around the same time then I went to bed. When I got to work this morning saw the update and was kicking myself until now :P

        • I ordered 16 last night and I was cancelled this morn

  • Order (16 packs) canceled. T_T

  • +2

Thanks TA. I was worrying this morning where can I store those rolls but now feel much better don't have to worry about that anymore.

  • +1

which XXXXX contacted woolworths, now my order is cancellled.. beautiful mind this person@!!!

    • +6

Tightarse should have left his comment active as it may well have attracted a record for all time comment negs ^_^

      • I think that's why he pulled it.

  • Cancelled

I would like to remind everyone that TA has given 1700 posts here on Ozbaragain.
OK maybe he screwed up on this one but we all mess up occasionally.
I would hope that people keep 1700 positive, useful posts in mind before lynching the guy.
He is a massive contributor here.

    • +2

      Absolutely agree with you.

    • +11

Most of the negative criticism comes from people with less than ten posts. Leeches on the site that expect everything and return nothing.

    • +3

      That's a lot of SPAM right there…

    • +3

You don't make mistakes on ozbargain. It can cost a lot of monies to makes mistakes on ozbargain!!!

      • +6

So says Mr 0 posts, 0 contributions.

        • +4

So says Mr 'I don't have humour' ;)

          not funny at all.

        • @liquid metal:
Oh OK irony/jokes don't always come over on the net or in translation.
Suggest you use :P if thats your intention.

        • +2

          Yeah, you're right.

        • +3

You don't have to defend him. He can handle it himself.

        • +1

          @liquid metal:
Its not that, it sh!ts me to see people react as childish lynch-herd and trash someones years of good work and reputation because they missed a single deal.
I figure somebody should say something.

        • @liquid metal: he is handling himself obviously

        • +1

Don't shit yourself, no cheap toilet paper anymore lol. I didn't lynch-herd or trash him. Why should I? It's just a toilet paper deal and not like half price new car deal or so.

        • @liquid metal:
You really need to take a closer look at Aussie idioms before you try to play with the language, mate.

        • @liquid metal: This "vent first, think later" mode is not really appropriate for people who I assume are responsible adults with jobs and responsibilities and not children on YouTube.

        • @liquid metal:
I buy it. Just some lite sarcasm. I took it as supportive, rather than criticism.

        • @King Tightarse:
Not into chat groups lingo. What does :P mean.
          Doubt googling would answer it.

    • +1

I'm fine with it, shit happens
      Now I just need some paper (-;

    • Oh well, all he have to do just keep silent.

Why ruined his reputation that took him many years to build up and screwed up in few hours?

    • But he intentionally undermined the deal, alerting the people who would eventually shut this down, the very people he shouldnt have. Its just ozbargain and i dont care, but why undermine this many people and dob on the deal?

    • There were many online price errors in the past , eventually, the order was cancelled with a email notification. This is fine and I think the deal is too good to be true.

TA has contributed a lot, and there are still lots of bargains required to be discovered and distributed by guys like TA in the future, TA keep up your good work and all other OBs (include me) don't be too disappointed.

P.S I still have toilet papers

    • "He is a massive contributor here."

Yes everyone knows that, but what no one can understand is why he did it; what possible reason could there be for doing it? It makes no sense whatsoever.

  • +1

    NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANCELLEDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how long until they cancel it ? i havent received the cancelation email yet…

    • Now you'll get cancellation email.

      • im waiting…… :D

  • Cancelled, might call and ask for at least the Max 6 being delivered.

    • +1

I tried, she stated the order had already been cancelled.

  • Woolies just cancelled my order with no reason stated. had to call customer service to find out that they forgot to place the T&C that it's limited to 6 per customer and now all the codes do not work online…

  • Also cancelled. Whats the best deal on them now?

  • did you guys get confirmation email first before it canceled ?

    • Yes. I'm waiting for my cancellation email

    • Like to know this too.

    • +1

      Confirmation first then cancellation after.

This is grossly a pricing error, your email is coming after the other 1000 orders are cancelled.

  • +5

    JUT RECEIVED MINE….

    Cancelation email.. :(

  • thought i escaped it, but just got the cancellation email.

You guys that havent got it yet, its coming…

  • +2

Hey tightarse, I posted a freebie about PETA a day ago, and thought WW111 was underway. I deleted the whole shimo. Best bet logout for 12 hours. Next day new bargs. New cancellations. Sorry I've been cheeky about this.

  • +1

Cancelled as well, which in itself I don't mind, but the arrogance of the email is a joke, no apology or expplanation that they made a mistake, be it in there codes or stock levels.

  • +2

My order of 16 packs was cancelled as well! Damnnnn - looks like I have to go back using HomeBrand toilet paper again :(. It's cheap but pretty harsh on my bum. I've got scratch marks all over my bum thanks to HomeBrand.

    Argghhh Damn you Woolie!

  • +6

Both my orders (16 and 38) cancelled.

I'm ok with it being cancelled, I understand that this was too good to be true and was worth a try.

However I really dislike the cancelation emails. No reason stated and no confirmation of refund.

    • can't risk additional potential lawsuit. fastest this way and they have time to prepare reasons and legal counter.

  • +4

    Cancelled… 60 packs.

I'm spewin and got nothing to wipe my mouth with

  • -2

    Blame TA…

    Order cancelled

    • +6

His 1700+ contributions to OZBargain outweighs this minor stuff up. Anyone could've made a mistake at any point in their life. Anyway it's too good to be true and someone at Woolies woul've picked up this anomaly of huge quantity order for toilet papers.

How about you? Only 1 deal posted since 2012?

      • Am I misjudging it, or the fact that TA openly posted the transcript (initially), indicates he was trying to keep people informed about the deal. Not trash it.

        • "… trying to keep people informed about the deal."

Oh I think you're pretty clearly misjudging it; people on here keep others informed about deals like this in 'real time', by way of the comments/ongoing dialogue.

Don't ask me what TA's actual aim was though; of that, I have no idea.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:
I thought he had had trouble with the code(s) himself, so he enquired with Woolies. But not certain about this. Ask TA if this is the case.
I like the way he handled the situation today, and support his next blunders no worries. I don't make much of a contribution here, but TA, jv, waterloggeredturnip, easternculture and dozens of others do, so I am grateful to Scotty and these others for this often excellent entertainment.
Hope that helps answers your question gnarlydude..

        • +2

          @NOYANONO:

"I thought he had had trouble with the code(s) himself, so he enquired with Woolies."

What gave you that impression? That's not what happened at all. TA himself says the only reason he contacted Woolies was to get 'acknowledgement that the [OzBargainers] deals would be honoured'. This is what no one can understand; because there was absolutely nothing to be gained by doing that (i.e. there was no actual reason to do it), and there was a whole lot to lose.

Anyways, I was worried that someone might potentially contact Woolies/ruin things for everyone re future stacking deals, hence I tried to prevent it in advance with this comment, posted in this thread way before TA erm 'intervened':

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/192255?page=2#comment-2717…

I guess he either didn't read the prior posts before he 'took action', or he disagreed with my post, or disregarded it, or whatever. It's a shame, but I agree with the general sentiment that what is done is done, and there's no point dwelling on it. But I reckon it should serve as a lesson to others; never mention OzBargain to any retailer/service-provider, for any reason (unless of course you are a member of the OzB staff). This is actually just common sense really, which is why I was so surprised that this happened.

        • -1

          @GnarlyKnuckles:
"This is what no one can understand;" Ah you speak for everyone now.

No one, you state? Are you absolutely certain about that. I understand what has happened just fine. So do 90+% of everyone else here I expect.

Really, your whole tone is about speaking for everyone. Whatever YOU think or say SHOULD be done. Why wasn't it done YOUR WAY?

Only Moocher, Scotty etc can demand anything here I think. It's not your website.

Please come down a notch or two.
Best to you all the same.

        • +1

          @NOYANONO:

It would have been obvious to most that by 'no one' I meant 'no one asking/wondering why the hell it was done'.

You state that you understand why it happened 'just fine', but the fact is you have already revealed that your interpretations of the events that transpired are based on a complete misunderstanding of what actually occurred in the first place.

I would never claim to 'speak for everyone' by any stretch; but I am happy to voice the opinions of many who may be hesitant to do so explicitly themselves (for fear of reprisals/'negs'/whatever), in this forum. Ironically, given the events that have provoked this exchange between you and I, I would certainly never assume a right to contact a 3rd-party and 'speak for everyone' on OzB for any reason. Because as you rightly point out, it is not my website.

Please come down a notch or two. I am not saying anything hundreds of others aren't thinking, and I'm trying to say it all tactfully/productively, so that silly things like this might be avoided in the future.

          Best wishes to you, also.

      • +1

minor stuff up? Seems more like a major stuff up to have 100s of ozbargainers lose a deal of the month/year

      • -2

Yep, I don't post deals, just comment and use the site… so? Thanks for taking the time to check my profile. Couldn't be bothered checking yours.
