How does one enter numbers in the address book? Manually, one at a time? Or can you import from PC etc.

I'd call this a good deal.

  • Not bad, but I'm hanging for a good deal on this…

does it have hands free external speakers. good for the 30 minute wait times for call centers.

    • Probably even longer now days…

      From the linked webpage:
"Uniden’s digital duplex speakerphone allows hands free communication."

$18 for the Uniden DECT 1015 Cordless Phone if you want a white one.

  • Are there any of these (dect phones) which take eneloops?

    • You mean NiMh batteries?

      • Naturally.

    • Probably not. The batteries don't just sit in the handset, there's a small cable attached to the batteries that you plug in.

      • But they are just 1.2V in parallel (2.4V) iirc.. Surely there's an manufacturer that doesn't 'require' the use of "propriety" batteries.

        • probably have to pull them apart and find out.

I know my very old uniden took 4 rechargreable AAs.

        • @Davo1111:
No match fro the 1615, but there was for the 1625 on their website:

          BT1811
Cordless Phone Battery to suit the model DECT 1625

Googling that model number gives me…
          http://www.gadgetcity.com.au/uniden-bt1811-cordless-phone-re…

So it seems like yes, they are AA rechargables?

        • @superroach:

those are AAA, looks like you've got a plan.

Or just go to myer and open them all up

    • Siemens gigaset Dect phones used to be powered by AAA NiMh

Hi, just wondering, can additional handsets be added to this, where they talk back to the central unit? Cheers

  • how come can't use $5 harvey norman coupon for the phone?

    • min spend $30 from memory.

  • "speakerphone probably won't work when on the intercom (only calls)"

What do you mean by this?

    • +1

The Uniden model I own only has the ability to use hands free (speakerphone) when on a phone call. When using the intercom function you have to hold the handset to your ear.
It's stupid because the hardware is there & they could make it work.

  • Good news, officeworks is now showing $29.00 so a price beat would make it $15.20.
