  • Been hanging out for a good deal on these. Only thing stopping me is from last offer from DWI - apparently these are grey import and therefore not such a fantastic price:

Yeah everything on DWI Is Grey

so if they sold lots of pairs of sunglasses would that make it "50 shades of grey" ?

  • There's another offer for similar price at a vic store posted on ozb.

Called the local JB Hifi and asked what was the best price they could give me. They said $375. I said they were for sale at $344 at Myer two weeks ago and asked if they could do that price. After a couple of minutes the lady said yes. So it pays to call and ask.

  • I bought mine at this price and think they are still overrated. Don't get me wrong they don't sound bad but they don't sound exceptional. For this price point there are so many choices so DOYR first and don't buy on brand name only!

Overrated? There are no other noise canceling headphones that come close to these. If you bought these for their sound quality then you've made a huge mistake. If you bought them for their NC then you can not do better

NC cancelling headphones never sound great but to say Bose NC headphones are overrated is complete ignorance.
I hate overpriced brands etc but Bose is the clear leader in Noise Cancelling, no doubt about that.

    • Buy Other Sound Equipment?

The Bose QuietComfort 25 headphones offer the best noise cancelling of any headphone available.

BTW if you want to sleep in a plane, a good pair of earplugs underneath a pair of QC15/25 headphones will make it sound like you're in a very quiet room. The headphones take care of the lows that the earplugs can't block.

If you're going grey may as well check Amazon Germany. Was close to $300 aud when i checked a few weeks ago.

    • Looks like $363 AUD Not including delivery if I'm looking in the right place.

  • I saw these at sydney airport for $320 a months ago but obviously our dollar was higher back then. Be aware that if you're watching their demo at JB or whatever store, the sound created in the demo to demonstrate noise cancelling ability will not work that well in the real world.

    • why's that, because they're coming from speakers? was really impressed by that demo lol

      • Depends on what is meant by 'real world'. The demo units I've seen were basically white noise generators, meant to simulate the sound of the jet engines on a plane. In my experience the effectiveness of the headphones (QC15) at reducing the noise from the demo unit and the engine noise on a real plane was similar.

On the other hand if you're trying to shut out more random types of noise, like noisy co-workers, construction work etc. you may be better off with headphones that have very good noise isolation rather than active noise cancellation.

  • look around.. i got my QC25's for $150 on gumtree.. best bargain of my life. retired my beats and now used these everywhere..
