  • We bought this seat (or the previous model, hard to tell exactly) last time it was half off at Target and it works OK.

The fit is not great in my Falcon but is fine in my wife's Barina.
In my Falcon I use an additional strap to stop it from sliding side-to-side.

cheers OP and @izzypop08 for the code, got one for my niece to be born in 3 months time :)

  • Hey all, any comments as to how wide this thing is? Pretty Normal?

    • +2

slightly wider than a 0-4 year old ;)

    • Pretty normal. It seems like most baby seats of this configuration (0-12 + 1-4) are basically the same with minor changes. Britax seems to hold a monopoly in AU.

      • Yep, bang on size wise with the older guardian model, pleased to have picked this up so cheers for the post.

      • when I went to pickup a second one from target inaloo wa.

there was a safe and sound forward facing 6months to 4years then a booster from 4 to 8 years
for $179 which I thought sounded quite good.

anyone had any experience with these?

don't see it on the target website though.

  • currently not available online

  • when i first scrolled past this deal on the front page i thought it was a bulletproof vest and i was most interested

    baby seat, not so much

That's the wrong kind of protection to wear if you want to avoid purchasing one of these in a few years..

  • anyone know if this deal is available in store?

    • I was in a store today. There were heaps at Miranda NSW but the sale wasn't advertised there. Didn't ask because I already purchased online click and collect.

  • Just bought one instore today, 18th of april, 4pm, at cannington, wa. There were atleast 7 available..

    • great, thanks! also in perth.

  • Just a word of warning from our experience. We got one recently from Target and have found several times the safety clips on the front disengage by themselves leaving the child completely unconstrained. I'm trying to get in contact with Safe and Sound but by the look of it, its more a design/quality issue as the latching mechanism does not look properly designed.

Also extremely painful to change the belt positioning as the child grows, have to pull the whole seat out, re-feed the straps and struggle with making sure they don't twist on the top while aligning from the bottom.

I've also found it difficult to deal with Target on problems like this.

    • I actually had a similar problem with an 1.5 year old safe and sound car seat.
It wasn't as bad as you described but the left belt wouldn't click in, the right one had to be clicked in first then the left side.
Received a refund with no issues from Target and then purchased this model, (cannington store still has about 5)

I find the belt positioning isn't too bad, though I question the up to 4 years old, my daughter is 1.5 and using the top position.

    • The re feed thing is pretty standard and takes all of about 10-15 seconds per strap.

      Noob ;)

Also, you have to listen for that click when you latch them, they can feel kinda secure prior to it but just aren't.

      • Yeh, no didn't take 10-15 seconds.. took long enough I was ready to pull my hair out.. problem is the strap on the front can twist even if it looks straight so it requires significant patience .. We have a three other seats all considerably easier than the balance to adjust, even one with a very similar system.

Yes, they click when we latch them.. but then unclick by themselves.. If you pull hard on them sometimes they unclick and you can redo them until they settle down and hold. For safety I basically test them by applying force a couple times after securing them. Not right though.. all other seats we have click in and hold with no further interaction needed.

  • There are still 7-8 seats left at Highpoint Store

  • Bought one from Target at Macquarie Shopping Centre. There were 3 left when I left the store.
