    Dang, still no batteries.

"Discount does not apply to purchases of transmissions, satellite navigation devices, motor vehicle and marine batteries, engines & cylinder heads, equipment, gift cards, any trade purchases and Trade Workshop Equipment."

      • Ouch! You are rubbing salt in my wounds!

But congrats on the triple discount. If only you had paid $99 with your ING direct card, and the remainder with cash, it could have been a quadruple.

I wonder, what's the highest number of stacked discounts anyone has achieved here on OzBargain, and what was the overall discount?

I once achieved a triple, buying Itunes cards on sale, using 5% discounted gift cards to pay, and also receiving a fuel voucher on the receipt.

        • I thought the 5% ING card discount was assumed. Of course I used it ;-)

  • Thanks need a fuel filter for my Navara

  • wonder if this is for VIP members too?

    • Me too. The VIP card seems become useless since I joined for free together with a number of ozbargainers.

      • keen to know too..just about time to stock up on engine oil….

        • Yeah I need a few things, someone please chime in if the VIP Card is useable.

        • @broy:
They normally say if the VIP card gets a discount, and likely email you, so I'd say not. Can't hurt to ask in store if they'll match the Auto Club discount for VIP cards.

  • Cool I need to stock up on car wash and some motor oils.

    • Penrite is already on special so they won't apply any additional discount :(

SCA will price match repco specials.

  • Hope SCA will offer 20% to compete with repco

    • Well..this is 30% , can't see SCA beat their price with 20%? Also, I find in general RRP for non-SCA brand in Repco tend to be lower than SCA

      • I mean like offer something to compete because I am not a member of an auto club

        • Roadside assistance should be enough

  • Anyone knows if it applies to shocks that they have to order from supplier?

Sadly, last line of fine print (not included above) will exclude that: "Store Stock Only."

Thanks OP. My local Repco is like 5 minutes away (by foot).

  • do they scan your autoclub card or just need to see you have one?
We left RACV about 3 weeks ago but still have a card wondering if i can use it i need a few supplies.

  • Be sure to show your Show Your Card and Save

Only says show …so it's worth a try ,from memory there isn't a barcode on my racq card.

    • I used mine a few times it has a barcode but i can't remember if they scanned it or typed the barcode in or not i think i usually hand it over to them.
Maybe i will give it a try and if fails play dumb.

  • Every time freedom has one of these Racv sales they out in your details against your card number.

  • if anyone has made a RACV card purchase at Repco today can you please confirm if they view enter details from card thanks

    • Made a purchase and they do scan the barcode on the back of your card - however as you said above, I'd give it a go and play dumb. I'd say it's somewhat unlikely that their system checks if you still have a valid membership.

  • Tentative +1.
Even at 30% off, you still have do some keen comparison shopping to guarantee a 'deal' from Repco.
Silly exclusion of batteries from all of their regular percentage-off sales for the last couple of years.

I have bought several 'still-not-particularly-cheap-even-with-20%-off' Century batteries from SCA. With a battery purchase as the primary motivation to venture in / out on a public holiday (SCA's once very predictable strategy), I have always ended-up buying some other stuff while I was there.

    • Silly exclusion of batteries from all of their regular percentage-off sales for the last couple of years.

Batteries were 30% off in January plus other discounts, as I posted above. Bought a Century for $91 that SCA wanted $155 for. Even with 20% off at SCA, Repco were much cheaper then.

Bruce, I upvoted your comment, above, earlier. You also get my vote as OzBargain's battery-buying ninja. Respect.

If Repco has shifted any of their pricing policies recently, it is long overdue - for their own sake.

I reckon that they have been losing business hand-over-fist to Supercheap and even Autobarn in recent years. Continuing to rely on the goodwill of older customers with fond associations with the brand was only ever going to get them so far. There were some painfully and poignantly obvious TV ads, pointing to that particularly strategy, less than a year ago.

        • It was the only time I've shopped at Repco ;-)

    • I bought about $400 worth of stuff pre-discount from Repco today and the only items that would have been cheaper in SCA were branded in Repco but Calibre (SCA's brand) in SCA, and I specifically wanted a decent brand (didn't bother checking the prices, but repcos in house brand may have been the same/cheaper than SCA). I find that without any extra discounts, repco and sca are the same price for most things.

  • Yes they scan raa card spent $200/on oil and filters and coolent and degreaser for 2 cars money well spent cheers

Guys, just saw the repco ad, apparently if you spend over $100 and for $25 extra you get a 70odd piece tool drawer chest, anyone checked this out? No idea on quality…

Shows on the repco website too, but not much info on it. I bought one just for the hell of it (already have more tools than I'm likely to need, and much better quality than this one…but another tool kit can't hurt!) and I'd say that it's about what you'd expect from a typical cheap toolkit - one thing I found a bit strange was that sockets from 4mm to 13mm are 1/4 drive, 14mm to 18mm are 3/8, and there's no 17mm socket included, ring spanners only go up to 15mm, and all sockets/spanners are metric (a large amount of cars use imperial, and most decent tool kits have both metric and imperial).

In all honesty - it's not worth a cent over the $25 they're charging. If it cost any more, you would be better off buying everything separately (even if you have to stick to cheap tools)
