  • What else in this exclusive newsletter?

Great deal! I just ordered it instantly. I was waiting for the Sunday eBay Promo to hopefully get one for $225. This is a no brainer if you need a new 802.11ac Modem/Router.

    • +1

Don't forget to claim IP Camera, when you receive it

  • -1

    Frustrated - I paid $239 from Wireless 1 just a fortnight ago. A pity that they don't offer a 30 day price match. :(

    • +1

I awaited literally 4 weeks for this deal. And there were lot of other people too, who were waiting for this deal

  • +3

Thanks so much, and also for your comment in the previous thread.

    • +1

      yes thanks otherwise i wouldn't know #YouDaRealMVP

      • My pleasure!!

      • Did you order one this time for yourself ??

    • So, did you order one ??

    • +1

      Sure did

  • Hi noob question here, does work on Telstra HFC cable internet? thanks so much for the answer.

    • +2

No sure. you will still need a HFC modem or whatever they call it and then you can connect the Telstra modem to the EWAN port of this TP link Modem and use it as a router

      • +1

        thanks makes sense cheers.

    • +1

Or you can buy the Archer C9 ROUTER for $179 instead (no IP camera)…
      http://www.wireless1.com.au/tp-link-archer-c9-wireless-ac190…

      • +2

That's a C9, which is only router. This deal is D9, which is modem+router

        • +2

I know …I'm responding to @Super8Tab's question whether they can use a D9 MODEM/Router for Telstra cable.

        • @1bug: oh lol didnt' notice that.

  • +1

    GREAT!

  • +1

Awesome! Order placed! :-) Thanks OP!

  • Does it allow SNR tweaking like the billion 7800 series?

  • +1

Still waiting for my IP camera from the last deal. They said it can take up to 60 days :S

  • +1

Thanks op, Have been waiting to order one.

  • edit: nm

  • waited so long for this i ended up buying a netgear ac1900…! bloody hell ! ( i know that is just a router)

    • +1

R7000 is still ranked #1 AC1900 router by smallnetbuilder.
Personally, from months of use on 100/40, I'd suggest the R7000 over the D9 any day.

      • I'm so over Netgear.

My WNDR4500 is out of warranty is all of a sudden I can only have working wi-fi on either my laptop or all the other devices (i.e. phones and tablets) - I have to close the laptop to be able to use anything else.

Netgear Genie says "Netgear router is not found or is not supported". Have spent countless hours trying to fix this. Netgear support have offered to sell a support package. Was so desperate, almost decided to get it until I read this.

TP-Link's 3 year warranty is also nothing to sneeze at.

      • Thank you for that my good sir!

      • "From months of use on 100/40…"

        …comparing both models?

  • +1

You got my +1, but unfortunately (fortunately?) bought an Archer D7 about 2 weeks ago when MSY had them for $139!

  • +1

Have been thinking about this or spend more money to get the Asus dsl-ac68u instead… From the spec point of view they are very similar. Asus support VDSL but is that a pointless future proof feature?

    • +1

yea its pointless, youll either have adsl2 or FTTN/FTTP

also don't thing the asus has beam forming (wireless directional shaping)

      • Hold on a tick… Isn't FTTN supposed to be VDSL when it reached your house over coper?

68U does have beam forming. They even have a marketing name for it "Asus AiRadar"

    • I bought ASUS DSL-AC68U two weeks ago, but returned back, as it has very poor wireless range.

Better to go with TP-Link for superior wireless range

  • +1

thanks for posting the deal. just ordered one, great price

  • How many wired devices can this route?

    4.

    • Really I thought it was only three because you had to use one of the four ports for your wan / Internet connection?

Can anyone please confirm because I would really love four?

      • +1

If you use ADSL and use internal modem, you get 4 ports. If you want to use external modem, you have to use he port on the very right as WAN so leaving you with 3

  • +1

    Insta-Buy

  • +1

    thanks, bought.

  • +1

Wicked. Missed out last time also…. Thanks op

  • +1

I'm another one who's been watching and waiting to see if this might come back. Regular price was way out of my price range, so this was buy on sight for me too. Thanks OP.

  • How does this compare with the R7000 from a few weeks back for $151 (price matched OW)?

    • R7000 is a router only whilst this is modem + router.

  • -2

Can someone please tell me what's so good about this router that makes it an "instant buy" $200? Kinda sounding like a cult… For $200, can get a 512GB SSD or like, a half decent graphics card

To me the specs on paper look mediocre and the name TP-Link has always been referred to in my home as cheap, quick fix hardware.

    • +2

I guessing because it has all the bell and whistle comparing to most capable modem/ router on the market these days plus the free bonus camera sweetens the deal. Even cheaper than the cheapest Msy and you can just sit at home get it delivered to your door free, so those whose looking for an upgrade it's a good deal but for many it's probably just another back up purchase or just plain buying impulse.

    • +1

The main selling point is wireless AC (802.11ac), the latest WiFi technology.
It's also dual band with simultaneous 2.4GHz 600Mbps and 5GHz 1300Mbps transmitters (therefore marketed as AC1900).
It also has a builtin ADSL2+ modem and Gigabit switch.

Needless to say, you need devices with wireless AC (laptops, tablets, phones, etc) to get the most out of it (but you can also use existing wireless N or G devices as it's backward compatible).

      • Not to mention a USB 3.0 port.

  • +1

Hopefully they send the tax invoice dated before 31 March so the claim for the camera can be valid.

    • It will have your order date on it. So yes, you'll be fine.

  • -3

    DO NOT BUY FROM WIRELESS1

I purchased a Asus RT-AC66U from their paramatta store. The sold me an overseas model. Then when I went to get it repaired at the ASUS warranty center it was rejected. It had an Australian plug and everything.

    • +3

I bought ASUS DSL-AC68U from Wireless1. But I didn't like it, as it's wireless range was not that good.

So I contacted David (Manager) @ Wireless1, he advised me to contact ASUS and report the problem to them and get the reference number from ASUS and then call back, he will organise the return and refund me the full price, I paid for this including the shipping cost (to send the faulty modem back to them)

I followed the above instructions and the whole process was really easy and I received the full refund same day, they received my modem router back.

So yes, it's confirmed, they sell Australian stock, as representative at ASUS technical support asked me for the serial no. of the product, so that she can put that in the system and generate a reference number for me.

      • I liked my Asus router a lot. Worked really well until one of the ethernet ports died suddenly. Then when I went to the repair center in Auburn they refused to repair it for free because it was an overseas product (they checked the serial number). I had no idea since it came with a australian plug, and was only slightly cheaper than the competitors.

In the end it was okay because the repair center guy felt sorry for me and took it anyway. They ended up sending me back an AC-68U with a US plug. So far its working perfectly so I was okay in the end.

I'm glad you didn't have an issue but it doesn't change what they did to me. Buyer beware.

    • +2

I have been buying things from these guys for ages, never had any problem dealing with them. So far so good.

      I recommend Wireless1

    • +2

Nope, wireless1 is a good store. Purchased from there a lot and they are awesome =)

      Disregard this guy.

      • +1

Their service was fine, but it doesn't change the fact they are a grey market seller. But feel free to pay Australian prices for what is potentially an overseas product :)

  • Would this be worth getting for its non-wifi features? I mainly use ethernet connections but my modem still has issues with online matchmaking, random disconnects, etc.

  • I currently have the TP-Link N600 (http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-15_TD-W8980.h…), is it worth upgrading to D9?

    • If you need Wireless-AC and D9 model supports AC1900

  • +1

Thanks. Picked one up to replace my ageing Billion 7800N that now refuses to hold settings after reboots. Hopefully this is good as I'm pretty far from the exchange and only get around 6 Mb.

Anyone got advice on good 802.11ac USB network adapters suitable?

  • +1

Worth noting that while the catalogue price expires on 02/04, it must be purchased by 31/03 in order to redeem the camera.

  • Need a new ADSL modem router as my old TP-Link one has been getting pretty hot running 24/7 in Brisbane. If I don't reboot it at least once a day it freezes.

    • Go for this, you won't be disappointed !!

  • +1

I get a coupon code is not valid..

    • You need to log in first to be able to use the coupon code.

      • yep I am logged in and still get coupon code not valid

        • -1

I just confirmed with Wireless1, the promotion is finished, they reached the maximum limit. :(

  • I just tried to buy this and I'm getting coupon code is not valid. Poop.

  • +1

I can't use the coupon code too with same not valid message. I called store and I have been told it is sold out. :(

    • The next cheapest I've found is $224 for the CTECH20 code on Futu's ebay store

    • +1

kind sad… Although web sites shows it is in stock… I do not like such business practice advertise product for lower price and make excuses like it is sold out…

      • It's not sold out - you can still buy it but the coupon won't work.

  • anyone had their order shipped?

  • +2

Well I guess, since Wireless 1 annotates it's online "Orders" with the nebulous statement "All orders are subject to stock availability" I assume we will be left hanging a tad longer with regards to confirmation of the dispatch of our orders, unless Wireless1 or it's Associates provides a statement here that "all orders for the Archer D9 placed under the D9EASTER promotion - will be honored".

Seen it all before….. But remaining hopeful.

    • mine says 'processing' and always has since i made it i think. but it didn't ship today. fingers crossed for tomorrow. it's getting urgent for me = router dying :(

but i know what you mean. getting quite sick of this practice.

      • To quote Wireless1:

        http://www.wireless1.com.au/faq/

"When will my order be shipped?

Once your payment has been received by us, we will endeavour to have your item despatched within 1-2 working days. Should there be any delays, we will notify you immediately."

    • Hi guys, your orderes will be shipped out soon and you'll receive an email with tracking details.

      • -1

I think it's unfair that the deal was noted to expire on 02/04/2015 yet we get a "code is not valid" from 30 March. I refuse to pay Wireless1 an extra $25 by purchasing through their ebay store. /endrant.

        • Coupon code actually reached the maximum QTY

        • @OzSikhs:

Where does it say on OP there is a maximum QTY to the coupon code? it only says "Deal expires on 02/04/2015"

  • +1

Yeah looks like it's not sold out since you can still purchase it for full price.. Dodgy practice.. Wonder what fair trading has to say..

    • Hi tarken

Coupon code actually reached the maximum QTY

  • Rep for Wireless1. Can you please try to send out stock today?

I'm concious that claims for the camera need to be submitted by 7 APRIL - and you need to actually receive the unit to take photographs of the serial numbers etc… Easter is coming up and the mail could get slow.

    • I just had words with David (Manager) at Wireless1, he will take care of it and you guys will receive the emails soon with tracking details

  • The ad says that the promotion doesn't end until 2 April and also "Unless sold out", so why doesn't the coupon code work?

    • According to OP the Coupon code "reached the maximum QTY". Can't help but smile at that one!

      • Like Tarken said above 'Wonder what fair trading has to say'. This ad is misleading.

  • It appears my Archer D9 order is now on it's way. The order status has progressed from "processing" to "complete". Have Aust Post tracking number. It was picked up this afternoon (from Rydalmere) approx 90 minutes ago…. While I have not yet received a dispatch email, I checked my order on the Wireless1 website which had the updated details.

    Maybe all cisterns are go!!

  • Yeah, I emailed today wondering where my tracking number was, and now Auspost says In Transit, so should arrive in Melbourne tomorrow.

My current Billiion router (that has been switched on 24x7 for seven years) drops line sync about five times a day, so none too soon.

    • i got 10 out of mine ;)

  • +1

Wireless1 dispatch email just received - thanks Wireless1. Long wait for Aussie Post delivery given the looming Easter break - now assumed.

  • +1

Just received my delivery - yay! Now to submit the camera claim.

  • +1

Lightning fast delivery today - to regional Australia here! The D9 was a breeze to set up, and yes that D9 WI-FI coverage blows me away! Very happy with the product and the purchase process from Wireless1. I was expecting pain but received pleasure. Thanks OP and OzBargain.Have claimed the IP camera as part of the promotion and that may take 60 days to receive. All good.
