  • looks like a vibrating belt to me! mmm

    • Talk about "shooting from the hip"!

Edit: Looks like the link has been updated (it was previously linked to a "vibrating belt"). :)

  • fnd it, sounds decent

  • TopBuy TopDeal!

    • Was looking for the exact same model and your timing is awesome, Thanks

  • That's a great price, I would get one if I needed one.

  • I need one but dont know if I should! :s If i did…should I get the bag of software?

    • +1

you can't download a bag from the internet ;)

  • Cheap Price,

    Cheap camera?
My mobile has 5 times the image capture quality [5MP]
My previous phone had twice [2MP].

Its a 1MP camera recording video at .8MP?
Is this standard or sub standard for DV cameras?

    Great zoom though.

    K

    • "…5 times the … quality" - you mean 5 times the quantity. more megapixels doesn't imply better quality.

Entry level VIDEO cameras don't aim for high megapixels numbers. Their video capabilities will far outweigh anything that is achievable with a phone or a still image camera.

      • but this camera is far from "excellent"
You can get only so much quality from so few pixels.
And if you've seen the quality possible from new generation pocket still cameras that can do 720p video I would think the quality is very similar.

The only thing extra is the zoom and the f2 DOF

      The typical "megapixel myth" ….

There are more to a good, quality camera than just a big number megapixel.
      Such as
      - lens quality
      - sensor size
      - ISO capability
      - optical stability
      - optical zoom
      - flash distance
      - low light capability
      - wide angle

and none of this can be implement on a candy-stick phone.

This is not an unusual resolution for a Standard Definition camera.
These camera record at a resolution of 720×576, so actually only need around 0.4MP.

Technically, your old phone would have been capable of taking full hd video (1920×1080 = 2MP). Most of the quality difference from these camera's come from the lens (and sensor quality, not pixels).

      (Beaten times 4)

      • not exactly true - you phone can take 2mp PHOTOS not video. Video = 25 frames per second.

Phones can take 320x240 video mostly only - which is 0.07mpx
There are compact cameras though that can take 720p video with ok quality. (kodak m1093IS which is under $200)

  • Great camera. I've got FS21, which is almost the same camera as FS200 but with 16 GB built-in plus a slot for SD card, 1.07 MP Sensor and 45x zoom.
Very happy with it. Easy to use, great quality. Obviously not for photos but for video. Excellent optics.
I played my videos on 40" LCD - looks great.
Those people who compare it with mobile phone camera simply talk rubbish. They have absolutely no idea about video cameras and probably never tried them.

  • WOW! SO UNBELIBELO!!

  • damn, just bought this camera for $500 a few months ago :(

    • Well, you've got a few months of use out of it, and it's not really surprising that a consumer electronics item will be cheaper a few months after purchase (particularly with the appreciation of the Aussie dollar)! I'd only be kicking myself if I bought it for $500 a week ago. :)

  • which one capture better picture this canon or kodak zi8 full HD ?
    http://www.ryda.com.au/Kodak-Zi8-Pocket-Video-Camera-Black-p…

    • simply put zi8 captures "better resolution crispy picture" for you HD TV.

      • thanks mate

  • I would not buy from Top Buy. They are scam artists and don't follow through on their moneybackco cashbacks. Their prices aren't that good either. Buy elsewhere.
