That's a lot of KFC drumsticks I can buy with that money…

  • +17

    But does it run Crysis?

    • +107

It can run every AAA game plus Solitaire

      • +6

        all at the same time!

      • +46

        Will it get 60fps in e-tax 2015?

        • +18

it will run it @ 144fps if you have a 144hz monitor ;)

        • +2

I guess it's a must to prepare the 2015 tax.

        • @SrMoure: Can it do my 2013 tax return that is still not done?

        • @SrMoure: will be called myTax this year.

        • +7

          @SrMoure:

Guess I'll have to claim the $2099 under "cost of managing your tax affairs: expenses incurred in preparing your tax return"

        • @ajs900:
…and it probably still won't run on a Mac, so best buy the graphics card. I think that almost makes it a legitimate expense in preparing your tax return, ergo deductible

        • +5

keep in mind you'll prob have to deduct over several years via a depreciation schedule as it's $300+. :)

  • +1

I can finally run club penguin at 60 fps!

  • +7

just the card I need for running minecraft!

    • Can I make friend with ya, all these years I dream of a friend with system capable of running minecraft!!!

  • For the person that has everything!!!! :D

  • +10

dont you need 10 as a minimum for it to be a deal?

    • +1

yeah was gonna say, what if i wanted to buy 5 of these?

      • +1

But are you really going to buy 5 of them?
Plus we will limit these types of deals to one per customer.

    • +12

Sorry that was actually a typo on my side. We only have 3 units left, we didn't couldn't get 10…
Gigabyte only allocated 5 units to the whole of Australia and we took them all.

        • +1

Can you please e-mail [email protected] and I will look into it for you

        • I am also interested in this!!

        • +7

@tuzzi, We didn't have this item instock at Mwave but with our supplier. ("Instock at Supplier" stock levels is updated every 12 hours but "Instock at Mwave" is updated in Real Time)
I'd checked our supplier's website for their stock levels but they had completely sold out .
I'm trying to find another source to get this for you.

No hard feelings but I can only do my best. There's no point in giving you a discount if our primary supplier doesn't have stock.

        • mate, i just got this keyboard like 2 weeks ago.

loving the cherry mx blue. it just sound so right with the noise.

however, i paid $162 @ centrecom, so hopefully mwave can match it!

      • +2

        Mwave did a Broden! :)

        • +1

          Broaden owns mwave

  • God damn that's a crazy set-up.

  • How quickly prices fall. Only save $900.

On a side note now you can play Minecraft.

    • +1

We've these cards since December 2014 last year and unfortunately they've struggled to sell.
We're just selling way under cost to clear the stock and move on.

      • Yes. I don't think there's too many buyers who would pay the original $3999 price.

        • +3

That was the original Australia Suggested Price.
Taking into consideration shipment of these units (packaging is the size of a full size ATX case), USD to AUD conversion, etc.

      • -1

"Way under cost" on a $$$$ product… Ouch. Sounds like an item that shouldn't have been in shop stock.

  • +17

    I want to ask "Why?"
But then the only acceptable answer to this question is another question: "Why not?"

  • Do u need special mobo, PSU and case for this?

    • +3

If by 'special' you mean 'very high end' then yes, you need special gear to run these cards.

    • +4

As long as the motherboard can run 3-Way SLI.
      I would recommend a X99 motherboard; Gigabyte GA-X99-Gaming-G1-WIFI, ASUS RAMPAGE V Extreme X99 or Gigabyte GA-X99-SOC Force

Power Supply I found the Corsair AX-1200 to be a perfect suit.

      • +1

I will need a new PSU, Mobo, CPU :-(

        • +2

I will need a whole new computer :-)

  • +3

    Delivery cost to Perth:
    Nationwide Delivery$81.08
    Nationwide Express$644.2

    • +26

      The packaging is HUGE!

It comes in a large suitcase and approx. 19Kgs

      • +2

That explains the high shipping cost

  • +3

To me half the point of high end watercooling is the great looks you can achieve with nice blocks and tubing.

This is all ugly black plastic with a lumpy tumour sitting on top of your case.

  • I'm sure this will play the latest GTA game just fine.

    • like GTA XIX?

      • +1

By the time that is released these graphics cards will be in your average home pc ;)

        • +3

Considering there has been an average of 4 years between each major release, if you extrapolate that, it might actually be 2069 by the time we hit GTA XIX. I think we'll have these graphics cards in our average pets by that time.

  • I will be happier if OP is planning on doing promotion on GTX970.

    • No plans at the moment for an GTX 970 promotion with the unstable Australian Dollar.
However e-mail [email protected] with the GTX 970 model you're after and I will see, what I can do.

  • Pretty expensive just for a three way.

    • +17

The cheapest GTX 980 on the market is the Galax GeForce GTX 980 V2 4GB (with stock air cooling) @ $669, which is $2,007 for 3 units.
These cards are overclocked and are equipped with a special water-cooling system for $2,099.

      • +1

        That's still pretty expensive for both a one-way and a three-way.

    • +3

      Three ways are expansive!

    • +1

This comment has been here for 17 hours, and nobody's made the obvious response yet. I almost feel like it's too late for a zinger.

      • +1

If it makes you feel any better, I definitely thought about doing it last night..

        ambiguity intended

  • +2

You need tri-SLI to get >60fps in most games with max graphics @ 4K resolution.

I'd want a 4K projector to go a long with one of these guys and you'd have a truly next gen gaming experience.

    • +1

      you mean a 4K-per-eye VR headset :)

      • Then you'd need 6 of these cards.

    • Hi d3ft,

I still reckon it will still struggle to reach "constant" 4K to run "smoothly" @ 60FPS although I think no games really "truly" support 4K at this stage. Best to wait for the next gen card in about 6 months when the X1080 be released and will have power of 1.5 x GTX980 and cost ~ $800. Then you'll be lucky to flog these cards off second hand for $800 after 6 months.

Plus it seems that you cannot separate the cards if you want to sell separately.

4K Projectors will not support 4:4:4 chroma subsampling so gaming in 4K projector will be blotchy and full of artefacts.

      Btw, with 3 x GTX980 IMO will output 2.3 x performance.

      Cheers

    • +3

Don't think so, PC gaming still holds a huge marketshare

    • PC can always do crazy stuff like this, just not a lot of buyers for it.

      • 99.99% of people can't afford it, therefore very few truly experience the full glory of PC gaming.

My standards are low however, I'm fairly content with my i5 2500K and 7870. Can still game at 1080p at almost 60 fps in most games —- just gotta turn the aliasing and fancy effects off.

        • +2

I'm still happy with my 965BE and 5850…

  • Hey Rep,

Seeing as other people are asking for deals I'm hoping you'll respond to this request too

Planning to get i7 processor, noctua cooler, GTX 970, 16GB Ram and Gigabyte motherboard.

Is it worth emailing that sales address to hopefully get some sort of a deal?

    Cheers

    • +3

Majority of the time, our web price is our best price. Though it never hurts to e-mail us and check to see if there's any wiggle room.

      • +1

Let's hope there is! Thanks :)

  • +2

Remember though, to run these to its full capacity, you'd need a CPU to suit so it doesn't bottleneck the graphics. haha. Do your research on the web to find the most suitable CPU to avoid processor bottleneck.

    • +2

Intel i7 5820K overclocked to 4.0GHz or more, should be fine

    • +2

Current i5 CPUs don't bottleneck at all. I probably wouldn't go any lower or touch AMD.

  • +8

Brb….let me just mortgage my house.

  • Hey store rep

i wanna buy this http://www.mwave.com.au/product/vox-eminor-50-intel-gaming-p… but i wanna upgrade the SSD to a pro instead of an evo how do i customize the order ?

    • That's absolutely fine.
All you need to do is place an order online and either create a job or call our office with your request.

      • you said on the previous post its delivered in a "suitcase" is that true ? can i also just go and pick it up at your showroom at lidcombe ?

        • Yes, pick up is fine.
It comes in a box just like a PC Case and inside the box is the suitcase which contains the water-cooling system + 3x GTX 980's

        • @Mwave: Excellent now do me a deal boss !! … ive got my credit card and paypal login ready !!
          http://www.mwave.com.au/product/vox-eminor-50-intel-gaming-p… …. $2099.00 :(

          Don't forget the Udemy courses!

  • so much want :(

  • +1

It would be better to purchase a Titan X instead. more VRAM and less SLI driver headache.

    • +1

Yeah I cant see the point of 3x SLI, sli has just too many issues with it. In the end, I really dont know if you would see that much difference between 3 980s and a single Titan X

      • +2

Not sure if you're serious here…

Titan X is only a marginal improvement over a single, stock 980. These three units in SLI would wipe the floor when comparing against TWO Titan X', which would be $1000 more expensive.

SLI and Crossfire have come a long way.

  • +3

Anyway, what is this ? a Karcher ?

  • Can i use this to mine bitcoins?

  • +1

+1 Just because it is cool :-) And I want it, but I can't justify spending that much.

    • +11

Bro, you are the coolest. Like the coolest ever.

        • +1

          Sticks and stones

    • Depends,… do you have PCI-E 3.0 slots on your motherboard?

      • +1

Not sure. Is there a ISA card with it available?

    • +2

jesus that's your backup? next you'll be telling me your main pc has multiple cpu cores or something

      • +1

I am not that much of a waster. It is an AMD K6 @ 350 mhz

        • If 350 MHz then that's a K6-2. Rich people can afford K6-2…
