    If I'm in Sydney, is it worth going to Newcastle to get this plan? Or should I try the Jeenee mobile plan with Optus 4G? I'm not sure about connection, as when I had a 3G dongle, the Optus network was pathetically slow. I'm talking about having to wait for OzBargain to load over several seconds instead of instantly.

      I personally find vodafone to be better than Optus. But YMMV depending on where/when you use your phone.

      Nah stores can't do phone signups - they'll just direct you to the call centre. Possible you could get this offer through retentions if you're already a customer.

      edit: haven't been an employee for 3 years, thought I got rid of the tag but maybe not.

    If you're going to try to do it over the phone, try and pick an outlet that isn't run by vodafone itself (ie allphones)

    Got the deal over the phone. Was initially looking for the stores phone number in Charleston but the lady was very nice and proceeded to give me the deal. Very happy as there's no reception on the bottom floor of my house in Mt Pritchard with Optus.

    So you can get this deal on the phone no matter where you live by telling the operator that your home address is in a qualifying post code and giving them an address in that postcode, but then giving them your actual address as the postal address…

    Also, the new offer instead of the student offer is a bonus 1GB of data for the full 24 months if buying on the phone or online - even better.

    That makes this by far the best pre paid deal going at the moment…
