Balance Transfer Help Needed

hi
we have recently purchased a house and done some reno's
the credit card has taken a hiding looking to transfer my gem visa 5k balance to another
looking for the best and longest i was looking at virgin miniumum is 6k is that to transfer
or can my 5k still be transferred over and i get a 6k credit limit if aproved?

    You need to write proper sentences with punctuation.

    If you apply for another credit card, you usually get to balance transfer around 85% of the limit they give you.

    one last question if i do a balance transfer to pay out my old credit card do i still get to keep and use the old one if need be?
