was at Coles Melbourne Central. $1 for one kg straight cut chip. Never have this before, but figured that it can't be too bad for a mere dollar.

Straight cut , shouldn't that kind of language be offensive in this PC world!
RUOnDrugz?
With an air fryer I have found these to be the best chips I have cooked in my life from supermarket goods
Air Fryers any good?
very number one
Better than golden crunch?
Yes but with golden crunch you probably have a personal preference for the harder texture
Taste wise this are my favourite
I wonder what these are fried in. Hopefully not animal fat/beef tallow like some cheap chips are!
close up on the packaging says canola oil
anyone know where they're made?
Yet which of the two do you think is better for you? GMO rapeseed oil which would otherwise be poisonous in its native state, and being overabundant in volatile polyunsaturated fats? Or saturated fat from which we ourselves and other animals are made from?
animal fat is much tastier than canola oil. (and it's debatable which is healthier)
if you're going to occasionally eat junk food in moderation, you might as well do it right.
(ps. pretty sure canola will be cheaper than animal fat/beef tallow)
I seen this reduced to $2 at Coles in Cranbourne, but from memory they were $2 originally. I haven't seen them for long on the shelves I thought they were a new line, then less than two weeks later they were reduced to clear.
It seems a bit weird, but now its $1, I like that!!
