DCS is the best combat flight sim available. Incredibly detailed, realistic and addictive.. A pretty good multiplayer community (free)..
If you haven't played these before there are good tutorials on how to start the aircraft get in the air and use it's systems. I would recommend A-10C as a start. Flaming Cliffs is great value for what you get (flaming cliffs aircraft don't have clickable cockpit's to interact with systems, you need to learn keyboard shortcuts or have a HOTAS joystick).
You will not be able to activate these on the steam version of the game. You need to download the non-steam DCS world (for free). Steam purchases can be activated on the non area dcs-world I think.

I use to be hugely into flight sim - mostly MSFS. I own the original lock on but not flaming cliffs. I have always found the copy protection scheme on the DCS products too restrictive.
