$0 iOS: Video Downloader Pro

1140

If you missed this offer a month ago, here's your chance to grab it again for free. And thank you to Xplosive Roses for the tip!

As I said previously, paid full price for this and it's easily the best app I own. Save ANY videos by holding the play button for 2 seconds then clicking 'download'. You then have the videos to watch any time you want. Perfect for YouTube! And its built-in player is a dream to use, with features not found in the native iOS app.

Available FREE for a short time at iTunes us & au. Pricetracker here.

Have a lovely weekend :)

  • If this is as described, it's just what I need. Thanks, OP & maker.

      I was WRONG!

Makers have bowed to Google / YouTube service terms & conditions:

      It WON'T save YouTube videos!!

      • Source? Just downloaded 3 YouTube videos and works just fine.

I tried it and it worked and downloaded a YouTube video. Try it again

This is the only reason I downloaded this and it works like a charm. Just copy the YouTube link in the apps browser. Either press and hold the play button or click the bouncing drop down arrow on the left of the url field and it will give you the option to download.
P.S. Since I was originally introduced to this app by TA I thought it's best to let the legend post it again. Thanks TA

Which rebellious iOS apps, etc. DO save YouTube videos, then?

On my PC, so YouTube.com does, or did, a few weeks ago.

    • +1

      This one does.

      • Hope you're right. It SAYS it doesn't do YouTube.

        • No menu ever appeared, on iPad Air. (Yes, I tapped+held.)

          Puzzled…

    • This one does, just follow the instructions to download.

This app is really cool, downloaded it last time it was free and it's the first time I've bothered to review an app on the app store.

Youtube videos download fine. Just remember not to try to download while it's playing, you have to do it from the preload screen

it doesn't download on the iPhone, it's iPad only

    • Oddly I am on an iPad and get a warning it's for iPad only and will not let me download it right now either…

    • Works fine on iPhone jv. Click the bouncing down-arrow to the immediate left of the URL window.

Tried again and worked… There was certainly a short period it was not working for some reason or another.

        • …and now back to not working again for me…how odd.

It worked fine for me. Just read the instructions. It's only a couple of lines.

      1. Go to YouTube video
      2. Hold on play button that shows up on the YouTube page over the video screenshot.

      It will start downloading.

        Just read the instructions

The app wasn't downloading, stating iPad only.

        Now it's working

  • just downloaded into 4S and grabbed a youtube clip. thanks TA!

  • Very good app

Wish they had a decent YouTube downloading all for Android. Going to try this for my iPod.

There is one for Android. Been using the one found here for a while http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137743

Works perfectly on the 4 android devices in my house.

Can't get it through the Play Store though.

      • Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it doesn't have its own native video player, but it will do for now.

Try foxtube (white background and orange fox cartoon triangle in the middle) as there are heaps others with similar or same names.
Paid app for ios as well as android. I have both and they work with youtube.

Videoder is brilliant, plus YouTube to mp3 conversion

    • I used tubeX or tubegod before I believe. Easier just to use a torch browser on pc

  • Thanks for the tip TA, good work!

  • I used to swear by amerigo, but after they cut youtube dl functionality I wasn't happy and looked for alternatives… Thx for the tip, just realised I already bought it in one of the prev sales!

  • IPad only it seems-even your iPhone link says this is only for ipad

    • even your iPhone link says this is only for ipad

I don't have an iPhone link in the post… only direct links to iTunes store.

      Works fine on iPhone.

    • Keep trying the link… Something odd as I got the iPad only warning in AppStore several times even though I am on an iPad… Eventually it worked… Then it stopped working and just checked again and it worked…odd.

      • Yeah kept trying it and it worked. Thaanks

  • Hasn't been working on YouTube for me anymore. iPhone 4s.

  • Does it work with Stan?

  • Cool. Thanks TA.

  • Can't choose what quality video it downloads, other apps do that quite well, here you just hit the button and hope it saves the one you're currently streaming as it often saves the default lower quality stream.

    • other apps do that quite well

      Which ones please?

      • "Instatube 2" allows you to set which quality to download from YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo

  • Thx. DL it last time and it is awesone

  • Works on YouTube. Ta

  • Works great on my iPad
    Thank you TA!

  • Does it let you select the quality of video?

I normally use my Droid to download vids.

    Thanks TA for the post.
