    Which year ?

my guess would be an early 2013 or perhaps even a 2014? A great year in the history of early bicycles. They sure don't make them like these anymore.

thanks poop. you made my day!

It must've been a pretty shit day

  • looks more like a vintage ladies bike

you mean a bicycle for vintage ladies?

      • This vintage bike had low V frame so grandma can keep their legs lower when getting on the bike. Nowadays the frame are higher as well as the legs go.

Plenty of negative reviews about these bikes out there. Very rust prone. A friend of mine had one for a year before it started rusting.
Suppose the price reflects the quality of the steel.

FYI, it's actually $50 off the regular "Reid Price", not $80 ($249 dropped to $199)

  • Reminds me of this bike from Seinfeld

    They look so pretty!

  • Long live the mamachari bikes.

For those not in the know mamachari (literally, mom's bicycle) are cheap disposable utility and commuter bikes typically used by people to move around in cities and suburbs, firstly in Japan and now catching on in the UK as a growing trend. First upgrade performed is usually an addition of a shopping basked and child seat, and it's also guaranteed that nobody would want to steal it because mamacharis are so commonplace and inexpensive. Even the police ride it

  • Reid = big w quality

    • Definitely not.

      • made in china, no qc at all with these bikes. basically flat pack, out of box bike. i have a condor and i know ;)

        • I have a Reid also (among numerous). You will never find a bike at Big W with a full Tiagra groupset. Doubt even a Sora groupset. Yes, you can get a cheap bike at Reid, but even those are far, far superior to the most expensive bikes at Big W.

        • @blitz: That might be true generally, but not for this jalopy. My wife owns one. Cheap Chinese rims, cheap chinese chainring and cheap chinese non shimano cassette.

The only thing that is actually Shimano branded is the gear lever.

Absolute heap of crap. I wanted her to buy an Electra, but she complains that I am too pushy. Well now she has a crap bike on her hands. That'll learn her.

        • sorry dupe.

        • @paizuri: bet the gear lever is quality at least. I would buy a used bike anyday over Reid rubbish, their scathing reviews online and the lack of quality components…

@ShamelessBargains: just a very basic shimano sis gear lever. Still its the high point of the bike. I do like the bell as well.
