What's a product that is a former shadow of itself?

What are some products you remember as being awesome back in the day, that you steer clear from and why?

There could be various reasons.

Quality has gone down, taste different, too expensive, product has shrunk in size.

Mine is a very personal one, Carmel Snack Packs- those were the bomb, I could eat 6 in one sitting. Then they released this ghastly new and "improved" version. Was never the same, and not surprisingly that flavour is not on the shelves anymore.

        • We live in exciting times.

        • There used to be heaps of staff in the past- especially at the photo counter and gaming\DVD\CDs\Electronics.

Now it's just one person holding the fort.

  • My knees!!

  • G-Star Jeans used to be expensive, but hand made in the Netherlands. Most amazing quality and therefore worth every penny. A staff member once told me that if anyone brings in a broken pair, regardless of age, they would replace/refund them without question. They never broke.

Fast forward to present. They are now made in China. They use cheap denims and threads. They fall apart just about when you walk out the door. I've replaced the same pair four times. No exaggeration. Wouldn't spend another cent there.

    • Some of the FabergĂ© items could fit into a Kinder Surprise capsule, yet the quality was peerless and values in the tens of thousands. Often much more.

Why then, are their jeans so sh!t?

  • Mambo, tamagotchi's, Nintendo, Dr Pepper, Tiger Woods, Australia Post, CD's, Halo, Adidas, Kodak, The Democrats, The Footy Show, Harris Scarf, Skittles, Pizza Hut, The Klu Klux Klan, Credit Unions, Turtle Necks, MySpace, Soap Operas, Fosters Beer, Fried Tofu and Nannas.

  • Cadbury ice cream tubs!!

  • Sanitarium Weet-bix Original. Was a 1.3kg value pack (exclusive to Woolworths). Has recently shrunk to a 1.2kg pack. Assume they are still charging the same price.
