  • I hate to be the one to say this but I feel like a lot your deals, particularly the Steam daily deals, aren't really necessary to post. Steam games go on sale often enough that to many people a game discounted 75% is the usual price. Sure, if a game has reached a new historical low then sure, go ahead but when an old title like this is discounted to the same price you see it at many times a year, I don't think it's worthwhile to post. I've looked at the deals you've been posting and I'd say the lack of upvotes reinforces this.

Please understand that this is just my opinion. If anyone feels otherwise, please feel free to leave a response rather than simply downvoting just because you disagree.

    • Thanks for the feedback, I'll take it into consideration.

  • Personally I like the steam daily deals.. hell I like any gaming related steam or non-steam gaming deals and I know some other people that do to.

    I quite like these posts.
I don't watch steam for price changes and appreciate the effort by anyone that does so then shares the results with the community.

  • @Eon-Rider: wouldn't a very similar argument apply to most deals published here? If someone keeps checking Dick Smith, Officeworks, Bing Lee, Steam, etc, etc sites info can be found there. Ozbargain is unique, single site which one can visit from time to time and have a summary of various deals from many sources. Of course usually it duplicates info available elsewhere (with exception of non advertised, in a shop only bargains). In this case: I found about the Steam deal here. I visit the Steam site and check their offer once every few weeks - for people like me this was useful. On the other hand if someone visits Steam frequently, and a deal is published on Ozbargain with [Steam] in the title, skipping it is easy.

No, I wouldn't say the arguments are similar. Unlike many of the other deals, the prices of Steam games are very predictable. Anyone who's used Steam for a reasonable amount will realise that majority of games will appear in a sale sooner or later at a discount of at least 75%. The reason I enjoy visiting OzBargain is because people post deals that would otherwise go unnoticed. Those deals also consider many other variables that don't apply to Steam games such as inflation and depreciation in value among other things. Besides, there are better ways to be informed of Steam sales for select products. Steam itself can e-mail you when a game on your wishlist in on sale. Then there's other services like IsThereAnyDeal.com which can do the same but instead of being specific to the Steam store, can inform you of the prices across all the most popular and trusted stores.

In addition to the above, let me propose a thought experiment. The Steam store is not the only distributor of Steam games that regularly has sales. What if instead of posting deals from the Steam store, I started posting deals that are at somewhat decent in value from GMG? As many of the regulars here would know, GMG has a referral system and people would soon catch on that I'm posting the deals for the sake of abusing my referral link. I've seen people be caught out for doing this several times but if there's no problem in posting similar deals from the Steam store, is there any problem when people do the same for GMG?

I'd be happy enough to see people posting links from GMG or Gamergate, etc that are worthwhile. I don't have the time nor inclination to check every digital distribution service on a daily basis, after all.

  • I bought it, thanks.
I've been waiting forever for it to be released on the ipad - but at this price I don't mind using my PC

  • Historical low isn't particularly true if you count humble bundle, just saying.

You can still get Fez for a a dollar or less on Steamtrades.com

  • I picked it for for $2.99 on ps4, not a bad little game.

  • Great price, say goodbye to your sanity.
