Much better deal than the previous one posted from another company. Think I might go see JBhifi at my local store this weekend and see if I can haggle a little cheaper.

Man these camera deals are going to bankrupt me ;-) AWESOME price.

Good price. But the newly released Nikon D5500 with touchscreen, built-in WiFi, Expeed 4, no low pass filter, ISO to 25600, etc is $839 from digiDirect atm.

Looks like a downgrade from the D7100.

    • You can't really compare the two as they really do have a separate batch of features..

Not even in the same league. There's a reason they release a new D5xxx every year. Those features like touchscreen and wifi appeal more to people transitioning from their phone/compact. Thats overpriced for a D5xxx series IMO, I'd rather go one of the "older" ones like the D5300 or D5200 if I was looking for a DX with flip out screen. Also I would be surprised if anything above ISO 6400 is usable, think thats just marketing saying its ISO 25600.

D7100 has features that will enthusiasts will actually have a use for - twin dials, physical buttons for ISO/WB/AF mode/DOF preview etc, 100% pentaprism viewfinder, commander mode with the built in flash, HSS/AutoFP, weather sealing, 1/8000 max shutter speed, secondary lcd, dual SD card slots, built in AF motor (for older AF lenses), etc

  • Waiting on some Sony A77ii deals!!

  • Crazy price! I paid $1050 half a year ago at JB and was wrapt I got it at that price.

Might be worth actually going in and trying to combine this with a deal on a lens. They actually matched a DWI price for me for the fairly new Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 at the time.

Buy it, get cash back, then refund, profit!

  • Currently have a D7000. Worth the upgrade to the 7100?

  • I've had a D90 for many years - this is a very tempting upgrade at that price point even though I'm not really in the market for one.

How low did D7000's go in price during their cycle?

    • lowest was around $800

  • Price drop is normal as D7200 coming next month :

    • The D7100 is two years old and rumors about its replacement, the D7200 have been going on for a while. It might even be announced in the Japanese CP+2015 in three weeks and incorporate some features of the D750 and D5500.

  • Now I just need a decent deal for fast SD cards ;-)

  • How do you claim the cashback from Nikon?
